After serving fifteen years in the merchant navy he transfers to land-based employment in the Persian Gulf. Whether at sea or on land, he always has the uncanny knack of attracting the sort of adventures that most people would rather read about than experience. As a descendant of Admiral Duncan, Donald Orde is destined for a career at sea from an early age. He describes the rigours of life as a boy aboard the training ship Mercury , where he is made to scrub the decks on hands and knees and to watch his classmates being flogged while lessons continue uninterrupted in the same room. In 1932 he joins the merchant navy as an apprentice on the Fernmoor . Soon afterwards he is shipwrecked in freezing December seas off the coast of Newfoundland. Undaunted, he is assigned to a new ship and quickly rises through the ranks until he is appointed chief officer of the Pampas in 1944, taking part in the D-Day landings. A wartime shipboard romance has a happy ending, despite the heroine being torpedoed in the Atlantic and interned in Germany. Tales that involve colourful captains, unusual cargoes and miraculous escapes from certain death are recounted with cheerful good humour. After the war Donald Orde leaves the sea but not the world of shipping. He joins Gray Mackenzie in Bahrain as a cargo superintendent and eventually becomes general manager. During his time in the Middle East he sees the landscapes change from near-biblical appearance to replicas of Wimbledon-overseas and witnesses the development of transport from camels to Cadillacs. More adventures follow, such as the mystery of the disappearing planes and the incident of the exploding ships.

As the former name implies, MPD/DID is a mental condition in which 2 or more personalities appear to inhabit a single body. A simple definition of DID by two conservative Christian counselors, Arthur Zeilstra and Janet Howden, is: " Dissociation is an act of disconnecting, locking the memory or pain in a 'suitcase' and storing the 'suitcase' in the back of the brain. Your telephone call was very uplifting for me, especially when Master chose to speak with me. I'm sorry I didn't recognize Master immediately, he caught me by surprise. I had assumed that Master preferred to stay in the background and not have direct contact with the outside world. Once again I am reminded that it is risky to assume anything. So I lost what I consider to be a precious opportunity to strengthen my relationship with the "Master" part of you. Still, it was very encouraging to have Master volunteer to talk with me; I hope that our future contacts are less disappointing for both of us. It is so good to see the progress as God continues His healing process within you! I am getting more excited about you and our relationship as each week goes by. There will still be difficult times for both of us, but I rejoice in the positive changes they are bringing to our lives.

If so, your at the right place! Most all child abuse survivor's have dealt with dissociation, because the abuse was just to hard for us to with stand as a child or even a teenager. It was the only way to cope at the time, now that we are older and stronger, our bodies and minds are better equipped to handle what happened to us. This doesn't mean it's an easy task, but it is our way of healing. This is the main reason I have put this group together! I do realize that each of us are a differeant levels of healing and because this is so, we will be able to understand and be supportive of one another. I am no better than any of you. I am sure I will learn alot from each of one you.
