Leben und wissenschaftliche Arbbeit
Pierre studierte am Jesuitenkolleg in Vannes , der Hauptstadt des bretonischen Departements Morbihan , und sp¤ter an der Universit¤t Paris Seine astronomische Forschung befasste sich mit der Fotometrie von Sonne und Mond ; f¼r genaue Astrometrie entwickelte er das Heliometer . In der Geod¤sie und Geophysik ist er vor allem durch die nach ihm benannten Schwereanomalien , Untersuchungen zur Lotabweichung und die groŸe Gradmessung in Peru bekannt.

Fine ‘800. legatura in tutta pelle ruvida, con doppia cornice impressa a secco sui piatti, fibia di chiusura in ottone al taglio esterno, la leg. è leggerm scolorita e soffre di un piccolo strappo, non manca nessuna parte di tessuto, al dorso. Sul p. ant. è inciso in oro a caratteri gotici il monogramma “G.A.M.”. dentelle interne dei piatti xilograf. in oro, fogli di sguardia rivestiti in seta bianca, cerniere in stoffa, i tre tagli sono in oro zecchino. cornici delle quali 11 a colori,con ampie scene xilografate, all’acquaforte, firmate ad opera di K. Crauford riproducenti scene in stile “Nouveau”, ogni xilografia è di cm. 19 x 26, 5. Tutte le cornici sono rilegate con cerniere di stoffa .Nell’album sono inserite 43 fotografie riproducenti i ritratti dei personaggi della famiglia Wenner , industriali svizzeri che a fine XIX secolo, operavano nel campo cartaceo e tessile, un ramo della famiglia (presumibilmente, quello di cui riportiamo la testimonianza fotografica) si stabilì a Napoli sempre a fine XIX secolo., tutte le fotografie sono databili 1870-1890 e di diverse dimensioni, esegute presso gli stabilimenti di:
