Email me Uniting Church (Australia) Protocol The UCA protocol consists of two sections: the 2001 Policy on Sexual Misconduct and the section of the church regulations which deal with discipline of clergy and church workers. Both are available here. In brief, a complaint is assessed according to the Policy by the Synod Sexual Misconduct Complaints Committee, and if substantiated, the SSMCC makes recommendations to the Committee for Discipline, who then applies discipline to the church worker according to the Regulations. Each state is administered by a different Synod, and hence a different committee. To view the Policy, click here To view the Regulations, click here Note: To view these files you will need to have Adobe Acrobat. You can download it here Both these files are from the 2004 edition of the Regulations and are correct at the time they were provided (Sep 2004). If you wish to press a complaint through the Uniting Church, it is strongly recommended that you ensure this is the most recent version. This can be done either by contacting the Uniting Church office in your state, or by emailing me My thanks to Terence Corkin, Assembly General Secretary, and the Uniting Church National Assembly for supplying the files and permission to reproduce them.

Jewish Christian Relationships in Australia - The Uniting Church Resolution July 1994
The Uniting Church of Australia is a Protestant organisation, the third largest religious group in Australia and represents approximately 8% of the population. Three years ago the Australian Jewish community and the Uniting Church in Australia were in conflict following the publication of a document which showed significant misunderstanding of Israel and Jewry. Since then the community has worked hard to resolve the conflict and sees the following motion, put by the Working Group On Relations With Other Faiths and passed unanimously by the Uniting Church Assembly on 12th July, 1994, as a major step forward in Jewish-Christian relationships. "That the Assembly: In the light of;

Who's Who:
My name is John Atkinson and I am the person who is responsible for the co-ordination of state wide events for children in the Uniting Church Synod in Western Australia. On behalf of the State church I also support leaders in ministry with children and families through visits to congregations and by making information and resources available. This work is assisted by the other members of the Resourcing Local Mission (RLM) team who work holistically to support Uniting Church congregations in the Synod of WA. First Thoughts on Passages from the Gospels in the Lectionary, now supplemented with First thoughts on the Epistles readings. The aim of these is to offer some initial reflections on the readings in the lectionary as an aid to people preparing sermons. The comments are not meant to be exegetical commentaries, although they include exegetical observation. They also include reflections which point to contemporary issues. They are also, by the same token, not sermons, not an attempt to say to people what sermons ought to be about. They are offered as a stimulus only. I have written them with only the Greek text before me, so that occasionally your translations may have opted for alternative ways of reading the text. If you sense this is the case, please check other translations or refer to detailed commentaries. This is a developing resource and I value feedback on whether you find it is useful and on how it might be changed/improved, made more useful. New A group of Melbourne colleagues, led by Revd Prof Howard Wallace of the Uniting Church Theological Hall, has now launched commentaries on the Old Testament passages.
