About us
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kaiserslautern is an English-speaking fellowship which meets every 2 nd and 4 th Sunday, except July and August at 1530 at the Southside Chapel #2 on Ramstein Air Base, near the city of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Our 2nd Sunday services usually begin with a candle-lighting and sharing of joys and concerns. There follows a children's story, after which the children retire to the meeting room for RE (religious education) activities. Then a musical interlude precedes the presentation of the day's theme, which could be a guest speaker invited to present information about a particular religion or spiritual quest, or perhaps a discussion topic of interest to religious liberals. The service closes with a piece of music and the extinguishing of the candles. The service is followed by a social hour in the meeting room, with good food, coffee, tea and juice, and a chance for lively conversation. The services are friendly to families, and the children usually enjoy the story and activities. Yet there is also time for quiet contemplation in the latter half of the service.

Unitarian Universalist Covenants:
Love is the doctrine of this church, The quest for truth is its sacrament, And service is its prayer. To dwell together in peace, To seek knowledge in freedom, To serve human need, To the end that all souls shall grow into harmony with the Divine. -adapted from L. Griswold Williams We covenant to maintain a church society where the individual may explore, develop and express a personal religious philosophy in an environment free of established or implied doctrines, tenets or beliefs and where the human causes and concerns for truth, equal rights, environment and community may be advocated and espoused. -from the documents of the UU Church of St. Petersburg In the early 1900's, the St. Petersburg, Florida, Unitarian Universalist Church was born. Meetings were held in homes and rented quarters until our lovely Spanish structure was built on Mirror Lake Drive in 1929-30. The building was enlarged to include space for religious education in 1967. Sketch by Judy Kusinitz Home Page Directory Contact us About Unitarian Universalism ... Resources

Mini Adult RE Class on UU History: Unitarianism in America before 1900 We indeed grant, that the use of reason in religion is accompanied with danger. But we ask any honest man to look on the history of the Church, and say, whether the renunciation of it is not still more dangerous William Ellery Channing Once leave your own knowledge of God, your own sentiment, and take secondary knowledge, as St. Paul's, or George Fox's, or Swedenborg's Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1838 Now the solar system as it exists in fact is permanent, though the notions of Thales and Ptolemy, of Copernicus and Descartes about this system, prove transient, imperfect approximations to the true expression.

UUDPR is a continental coalition of Unitarian Universalists leading the denomination's efforts to develop and promote more just and compassionate drug policies. In accordance with the denomination's new drug policy Statement of Conscience, we advocate that drug use should be a health issue, not a crime.
The General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association passed the "Alternatives to the War on Drugs" Statement of Conscience on June 22, 2002. The full document may be read by clicking on the links below. Excerpts include:
  • "Establish a legal, regulated, and taxed market for marijuana. Treat marijuana as we treat alcohol."
"Remove criminal penalties for possession and use of currently illegal drugs, with drug abusers subject to arrest and imprisonment only if they commit an actual crime (e.g., assault, burglary, impaired driving, vandalism)."
"Drug use, drug abuse, and drug addiction are distinct from one another. Using a drug does not necessarily mean abusing the drug, much less becoming addicted to it. Drug abuse issues are essentially matters for medical attention. We do not believe that drug use should be considered criminal behavior." "Make all drugs legally available with a prescription by a licensed physician, subject to professional oversight. End the practice of punishing an individual for obtaining, possessing, or using an otherwise illegal substance to treat a medical condition," and allow "medically administered drug maintenance" as a treatment option for drug addiction.

(www. senselessplanet .com) UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST Cult or Occult? Satan's Church One way some people have of talking about religion is something or someone called God. Some people think God is a very important idea. And some people don't. People who think God is really important have a lot of ways of thinking about God. Some people think God is sort of like a person. Other people think God is more like a spirit, like love, or like nature, or like peace. Some religions have lots of gods, like Hinduism. Some people think of God as the sun or as a bird. There is a god that looks like a man, except it has a head like an elephant. There is a god that looks like a woman, except it has six arms So I want you to know, if you have your own idea about God and it makes you more kind and brave, that's okay, even if your friends believe in a different God. And if you change your mind about God, that's okay, too. And furthermore, if you don't know what to think about God and even if you just don't care, that's okay, too. And you can tell your friend I said so.
