Roman Catholic Church of Valga Celebrates 2000 Years of Christianity!!! And in what way!!! We just came back from our Historical First Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome We want to share with all our friends and benefactors this great moment in the History of the Church of Estonia, so we invite all of you to have a look into our News Section. And now, let's come back to the rebuilding of the church. The amount of money required to finish the works is of 500,000.00 USD, and, although we are still short of reaching the amount needed, we have already commissioned the plans to the architects. As soon as they finish them, we will start the works, with God's help. We thank all our benefactors, and we assure them of all our prayers for their well being and success in all their endeavours, and of course, that they may attain peaceful holy lives. We are still short of money for this work of the rebuilding of the church, so all your donations are gratefully accepted. If you feel the call of the Holy Spirit to help us in this work of evangelisation (and the hand of the Lord is not short to repay every good work with a hundred per one reward), we are available at kirik.valga@neti.ee

111. All Saints' Day (Christian, Roman Catholic)
Brief overview of the holiday and the way in which it is celebrated.
http://www3.kumc.edu/diversity/ethnic_relig/allsaint.html
All Saints' Day
All Saints' Day is a Christian holy day observed by many Western churches on November 1 and by Eastern churches on the first Sunday after Pentecost. The day now honors all saints of the church, even those not known by name. The first All Saints' Day occurred on May 13, 609 (C.E.) when Pope Boniface IV accepted the Pantheon as a gift from the Emperor Phocas. Boniface dedicated it as the Church of Santa Maria Rotonda in honor of the Blessed Virgin and all martyrs. During Pope Gregory III's reign (731-741), the festival was expanded to include all saints and a chapel in St. Peter's church was dedicated accordingly. Pope Gregory IV officially designated the day in 837. Roman Catholics are required to attend Mass and to "refrain from unnecessary servile work" on this day. World Book Encyclopedia, 1992.

Theories of Population
Down to the end of the eighteenth century, very little attention was given to the relation between increase of population and increase of subsistence. Plato (De republica, V) and Aristotle (De republica, II, vi) maintained, indeed, that in a communistic society marriage and the birth of children ought to be regulated and restricted by law, lest the means of support should be insufficient for all the citizens; and in some of the city-states of ancient Greece, abortion, unnatural love, and infanticide were deliberately recommended and practised for the same general end. As a rule, however, the nations of antiquity as well as those of the medieval period The first author to deal systematically with the problem was Gianmaria Ortes, a Venetian friar, in a work entitled, "Reflessioni sulla populazione per rapporto all' economia nazionale." It appeared in 1790, eight years before the first edition of Malthus's famous work. According to Nitti: "Some pages of Ortes seem quite similar to those of Malthus; he comprehended the entire question, the geometrical progression of the population, the arithmetical progression of the means of subsistence, the preventive action of man, and the repressive action of nature" (Population and the Social System, p. 8). However, his book lacked the confident tone and the statistical arguments of Malthus; consequently it was soon overshadowed by the latter's production, and the

Roman Catholic Divorce Issues
It is the joy and curse of being Roman Catholic that your faith remains in a fishbowl. This is no more true with respect to any issue than with divorce. There is no shortage of media discussion of the approach Roman Catholic priests and lay persons take to divorce, annulment, and remarriage. For a look at all the faith perspectives available, click here The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has an informative web site. Check out their page on the Metropolitan Tribunal . It has lots of information about annulment. You could also check out the New Advent Catholic Supersite , which has a good collection of articles. Here's a thorough tract on Divorce and Remarriage from the Catholic Answers Home Page . And a nice exploration called " When a Marriage Fails " from the Center Point Newsletter in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Here's another paper on Remarriage in the Church (including a description of something called the "Internal Forum") from the Association for Rights of Catholics in the Church Here's a site called OnceCatholic.org

Background St. Wilfrid's church dates back to 1792 when building work began at a cost of £1851. It is a fine example of a 'Roman Church' in it's decoration and design. The tour will take you inside the church to identify the significant features of a typical Roman Catholic church. You will be able to understand the significance of some of the features in the church if you first understand the importance of the Sacraments for Roman Catholics. Roman Catholics believe in the seven sacraments and practice a liturgical form of worship.

120. Roman Catholic Church In Kazan
Information in English, Spanish, and Russian on the Institute of the IncarnateWord s efforts to rebuild the Catholic community in Kazan.
http://www.kcn.ru/tat_en/religion/catholic/home.en.html
Welcome to the Roman Catholic Church in Kazan
Spanish version Russian version After the horrors of the spiritual devastation during soviet times, a group of Argentinian priests arrived in Kazan, the capital city of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, so as to reconstruct the Catholic community. Upon the ruins of the failed communist aims, not in our own name, however, but in the name of Jesus Christ and of the Church these priests preach the Word of God and not their own foolish opinions. The Word of God penetrates more than a two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12), that same Word, which will not fail to exist (Mc. 13:31). These young members of the Institute of the Incarnate Word don't celebrate "their own liturgies", but rather the Eucharist of the Lord as the Church celebrates it, so as to proclaim his death until he returns. They sacrifice their own lives in the most beautiful and pleasing of all sacrifices: the consecration of oneself for Him and for the Gospel (Mc. 8:25). You have a short story of the parish in Spanish in this site . And a long one in Russian in this one The Institute of the Incarnate Word in the "Apostolic Administration for Catholics of the Roman Rite of the European Russia", is not only active in Kazan, but its priests pastorally care also for the cities of Nabereshnye Chelny (Republic of Tatarstan, 230 km from the capital) and Buguruslan (Russian Province of Orenburg, 570 km from Kazan). Our Provincial
