2. Christmas Paganism
Contends that Christmas is not a Christian holiday and encourages readers to follow Jesus.
http://www.hwcn.org/~al889/relgn/xmas96.html
The True Meaning Of Christmas
Except for Christ in the name, Christmas is pagan. The word mass is pagan and the customs surrounding it and Christmas are pagan. The very celebration without the rituals surrounding it is pagan. Pagan simply means that it is not from God. What is fr om God is easily proven. You can find it in your own Bible. The only mention of a yearly birthday celebration other than the actual day of birth is in the book of Job. Even then it is somewhat speculative. Jobs children it is said celebrated each thei r own day. They were all put to death and Job was sorely tested for his self righteousness. I believe that the testing was because Job allowed his family to practise a pagan observance. Pagan observances were all originated by man or by Satan through man. The origins of these traditions and the customs that surround them are often very difficult to trace. Because a specific custom or tradition cannot be traced is no reason to attribut e it to God. God's commandments and ordinances are easily found in the pages of the readily available Bible. It is interesting to note that the word tradition is one of only two words in the New Testament that adds up to 666, the number of the beast and of the mark of the beast spoken of in the book of Revelations chapter 13. The other word is wealth. As far as wealth goes the Roman Catholic Church does not need charitable contributions. It is self sufficient. It is wealthy. It is deeply entangled in politics, business and monetary ventures and schemes throughout much of the world. It has roots in the old Holy Roman Empire.

The New Age Movement: Reversion to Paganism
How the New Age Movement undermines the very foundations of a moral society By Mayer Adani For the past several decades, as a strategic exploitation by the Secular Humanist camp of the human tendency toward the spiritual, there has been a concerted propagation of a spirituality which denies G-D and His Law. This Modern Pagan Resurgence –promoted by leading personalities including "former" Communists (e.g., Mikhail Gorbachev, Nelson Mandela)– is the so-called New Age Movement. What is the New Age Movement (NAM)?
The essence of the NAM is “Spirituality Without [Biblical] Morality”. The NAM is a collection of movements that seeks to supplant the relatively monotheistic worldview of Western society with a modern version of the occultic, pre-Abrahamic pagan worldview. “Shifting Paradigms,” one name for the NAM, is correct, but vague. “Back to Babel” is more precise. For several decades, a growing collection of subversive movements has been coalescing around this international occultic pagan resurgence, promoting causes such as:

Paganism
Paganism, in the broadest sense includes all religions other than the true one revealed by God , and, in a narrower sense, all except Christianity Judaism , and Mohammedanism . The term is also used as the equivalent of Polytheism It is derived from the Latin pagus , whence pagani (i. e. those who live in the country), a name given to the country folk who remained heathen after the cities had become Christian . Various forms of Paganism are described in special articles (e.g. Brahminism, Buddhism, Mithraism ); the present article deals only with certain aspects of Paganism in general which will be helpful in studying its details and in judging its value.
I. CLAIMS OF PAGANISM TO THE NAME OF RELIGION.
INFLUENCE ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE LIFE
Polytheism Animism also entered largely into the religions of the Semites. Hence, we are taught, came Polyd monism, Polytheism , Monotheism. This is not correct. Polyd monism is undoubtedly a system born of belief in spirits, be these the souls of the dead or the hidden forces of nature. It "never exists alone and is not a 'religious' sentiment at all": it is not a degenerate form of Polytheism any more than its undeveloped antecedent. Animism, which is really a na ve philosophy, played an immense part in the formation of mythologies, and, combined with an already conscious monotheistic belief, undoubtedly gave rise to the complex forms of both Polyd monism and

Examples of early paganism, can be seen in ancient Greek and Roman religions, as well as in ancient Goddess worship and Druidic religions. DAILY QUOTES SACRED VERSES LINKS Welcome to the Indian Paganism site This site has two main objectives - Firstly, to contribute towards the development of modern Pagan-Hindu Magickal traditions within the fields of contemporary Paganism and Magick. Secondly, to explore the thousands of years of various Pagan and Hindu beliefs, traditions and customs in a comparative context. There already exists a great degree of shared roots and similarity between Pagan and Hindu religions, such as those of Wicca and Tantrika. Today many modern eclectic Pagans, Witches and Magicians work with Hindu deities and various aspects of Hindu paths. There are also groups who are working in Pagan-Hindu Magickal systems. This site, and the coming book 'Indian Paganism', aim to help the continuing development of this movement by assisting in the growth of modern Pagan-Hindu Magickal traditions and practices. Click to subscribe to Indian Paganism Daily Quotes The Indian Paganism site also offers a free daily quote service which shares either a Pagan, Hindu, or Magickal quote each day. Quotes are drawn from a wide variety of quality sources and reflect the extensive philosophy and underlying unity which exist between Paganism and Hinduism. The main resource areas from which quotes are drawn are Wiccan, Witchcraft, Classical Pagan, Neo-Pagan, Tantrik, Vedic, and Ceremonial Magick. A few of the authors and figures quoted include Starhawk, Doreen Valiente, Stewart Farrar, Marcus Aurelius, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Sivananda, Bhagavan Nityanandaji, Sri Ramakrishna, Aliester Crowley, Dion Fortune, and Eliphis Levi.

Paganism ... Help Like this page? Send it to a friend! Paganism Printable version of this page Introduction to Paganism Pagan book shop in Edinburgh Paganism describes a group of contemporary religions based on a reverence for nature. These faiths draw on the traditional religions of indigenous peoples throughout the world. Paganism encompasses a diverse community with some groups concentrating on specific traditions, practices or elements such as ecology, witchcraft, Celtic traditions or certain gods. Wiccans, Druids, Shamans, Sacred Ecologists, Odinists and Heathens all make up parts of the Pagan community. Whilst there are significant differences between these strands of Paganism, most Pagans share an ecological vision and involvement that comes from the Pagan belief in the organic vitality and spirituality of the natural world. Due to persecution and misrepresentation it is necessary to define what Pagans are not as well as what they are. Pagans are not sexual deviants, do not worship the devil (are not Satanists), are not evil, do not practice 'black magic' and their practices do not involve harming people or animals.

Paganism today Paganism is a collection of diverse contemporary religions rooted in or inspired by indigenous traditions worldwide. Pagan religions are characterized by Earth- centered spirituality, belief in the interconnection of all life, personal autonomy, polytheism, and immanent divinity. Pagans value diversity, good works, living lightly on the Earth, individual freedom, personal responsibility, community service, gender equity, and spiritual development. While the largest segment of the Pagan population is Caucasian, highly educated, and middle class, Pagans come from all walks of life. Most are avid readers with interests in ecology, creativity, and personal growth. Many work in scientific and computer- related disciplines. Since Paganism is not an organized movement, it is difficult to determine the number of practitioners. Estimates range from 100,000 to several million in the U.S. alone. Pagan religions may draw on ancient historical practices or be entirely new. In the case of the former, Pagans look to the beliefs, practices, gods, symbols, lands, music, and myths of a particular historical culture and adapt them for contemporary needs. Anachronistic elements, such as ritual violence, are rejected. Elements such as reverence for the natural world, honoring of the ancestors, and responsibility to the community are retained. Pagan religions which are not historically based take their inspiration from visionary, artistic, and libertarian traditions to create vibrant spiritual systems centered in Pagan values.
