This information is presented with the hope that you will not be deceived by those who would not tell you the truth about The Church of Jesus Christ. We invite all to "come unto Christ." We hope the information presented on our web site will demonstrate the many misrepresentations which have been told about the history and doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ. This Church is Christ's. We invite you to listen to the true message of the Church. The Latter-day Saints have been so repeatedly and generally misrepresented and maligned, that ordinarily little has been done by way of refutation. Were the people to undertake to meet every lie uttered against them and set it right, they would devote the whole of their lives to it and then die without accomplishing the desired object. But there are times when a refutation is necessary; when the whole people awake in earnestness to deny the misrepresentations of those who purposely and wilfully assail them.

Elijah
LDS Sources by Franklin D. Day During a divine manifestation to the youthful Joseph Smith on the evening of September 21, 1823, the angel Moroni quoted Malachi 4:5-6, a prophecy that concerns Elijah's activities in the latter days. Moroni's rendering, which differs from the current biblical text, outlines and clarifies Elijah's prophesied role: Malachi's prophecy anticipates that Elijah would play an important role "before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord" (Mal. 4:5). Elijah was endowed with the priesthood power of God. With this power, he declared to King Ahab that no rain would fall upon the land (1 Kgs. 17:1). Accordingly, the heavens were sealed and ancient Israel experienced a disastrous drought for three and a half years. When Elijah was carried up into heaven in a fiery chariot, his earthly mission appeared to have ended. But the sealing power that he exercised marked only the beginning of his responsibility regarding this eternal priesthood power. On April 3, 1836, in a vision to Joseph Smith and

The Mormon Connection
The LDS Church and Genealogy
by Jan McClintock
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints maintains the largest genealogical data collection in the world, at the main Family History Library in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The library collects information from members and other submitters through the Genealogical Society of Utah, the corporate business end of the Family History Department of the church.
The reason that the LDS church is so interested in genealogy is explained in church doctrine: family love and life can continue forever, even after death. To help make this happen, members want to be able to perform the temple ordinances, namely baptisms, endowments, and sealings to spouses and to parents, and also confirmations and ordinations. Endowments are like promises to the Lord to obey the covenants that are set by Him for life on Earth. Sealings are a binding together of families; husband and wife, and children to parents, in order to spend eternity together.
The church believes that these ordinances should be performed on behalf of ancestors who did not have the opportunity themselves. Ancestors are not forced to take the ordinances; they must accept the opportunity to do so.

uring the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints , converts from the British Isles played a crucial role, providing much-needed strength and leadership to the fledgling church. Among these, the Welsh were prominent, with influential figures such as Dan Jones and others making significant contributions to the growth of the work. The Church had great missionary success in Wales during the 1840's and 1850's, and many thousands of Welsh converts immigrated to America, heading West with Brigham Young as a part of the great Mormon Migration, which began in 1847. Today it is estimated that approximately twenty percent of the population of Utah is of Welsh descent. As the message of the restoration spread throughout Wales, many saints eagerly asked, "Pa bryd y cawn fyned i Seion?", which means "When may we go to Zion?" The new converts sought to follow the counsel of their leaders to leave "Babylon" (Wales) and go to "Zion" (Utah).
    Early Mormon converts
The saints' arduous trek westward This site seeks to preserve and share information about the early converts to Mormonism in Wales. Its main focus is on those individuals who were involved in the Mormon movement in 19th-century Wales. The individuals featured in this site are generally those who were born in Wales and came to America after converting to the Church.
