Kemetic Wicca
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The Wiccan sect called Kemetic Wicca or Egyptian Wicca is just that - the worship of the set of Egyptian gods and goddesses. There is particular strain to pray to the family of Osiris and his wife/sister Isis, and their falcon-headed son, Horus. This is called a trinity. Sacred symbols such a the Ankh (the ancient Egyptian symbol for life), and Eye of Horus All Seeing Eye are very popular in this sect. Some try to copy the religious rituals of the ancient Egyptians and the Book of the Dead (ancient Egyptian book describing spells and rituals used during embalming and other various rituals) is sometimes used as a reference. edit

    What is the Kemetic Religion?
Per Sekhmet is part of a sisterhood of temples, called Per Ankh, that is engaged in the contemporary practice of the traditional religion of Ancient Egypt, its culture, its belief systems, and its spirituality. There are different views of what exactly is the Kemetic religion. The following is from the view of Per Ankh, which might be different from other Kemetic groups. The Kemetic Religion As the Ancient Egyptian religion is one of the traditional religions of Africa. we share with these great faiths the style and approach to religious experience, rituals, and life. However, as the historical continuity with our ancestors has been broken, we share with reconstructionist religions in utilizing scholarly methods to re-create the structures, rites, and practices; our aim is to literally preserve rituals as fully as possible. While trying to keep our religion as closely to the religion of Ancient Egypt, we use methods of religious studies, philosophy, and theology to apply what we have learned to contemporary times. At the same time, we are a living religion that recognizes that growth and change is a part of healthy religious evolution. Such questions are taken seriously and discerned by the priesthood of individual temples, which, like the temples of Ancient times, might come to differing conclusions.

    - Be Welcome, Seeker. May Lord Heru look down apon you as a cherished one. May you find favor in His sight and may His wings enfold you now and forever. -
This site has no purpose other than to give glory to Lord Heru. While I am quite aware that there are more than one Netjer that go by that name, I will.. for the sake of simplicity, refer to those Seperate Deities as the combined "Lord Heru". Only now am I beginning to notice, and somewhat understand the subtle differences in personality that has been revealed to me. To each I say, Dua! May You be praised! May the Eye of Heru be presented back to the Netjer. Dua, Heru-sa-Aset! Dua, Heru-wer! Dua, Ra-Horakaty! To any Lord Heru I have yet to meet.. I say Dua!
Forgive me for not compiling archaelogical and/or scholastic information concering the Kemetic (Egyptian) Dieties who go by the name of Heru, but I figured there are a great many sites on the internet for such a purpose - my gifts do not tend to lean that direction. Nor will there be a compilation of myths concerning Him/Them. That too can be found in many places though I have included a list of various links in order to help you should that be what you wished to perouse.
I am thriving in this place of 'abundance' - a storehouse of knowledge and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my Sebau (Most especially, the Rev's, Wab Jen and Khep. But not forgetting ~everyone~ who teaches me from one moment to the next, day in, day out.) who walk with me and guide me. It is an honor :)

Site hosted by Why TC Uses Dreamhost Site by Randall Home Reconstructionism Search Egyptian/Kemetic Reconstructionist Paganism Kemeticism is a re-creation of the religion of Ancient Egypt, and includes the revival of its belief systems, its spirituality and other relevant aspects of its culture, such as literature and art. It is a belief in the Neteru* (Gods and Goddesses). It is a way of living in harmony with and upholding ma'at, which is balance in all things: the cosmos, the natural world and that of human society. The practice of the Kemetic religion today strives to be a living revival of the religion of the peoples of Ancient Egypt. Kemeticism is a reconstructionist religion which utilizes scholarly methods to recreate the structures and practices of the ancient religion, and apply these to contemporary times. It bases its religious practices on modern scholarly and academic research. It is not a modern "New Age" interpretation of the beliefs of Ancient Egypt, nor is it an extrapolation based on any Western religio-magickal traditions such as Wicca or Ceremonial Magic, but rather the actual religious practices as recorded by the Ancient Egyptians. As Kemeticism can be considered one of the African Traditional Religions, which come from similar geographic and sociological sources, many Kemetics share styles and approaches to religious experience, rituals and life with such religions.

The kemetic Faith is the religious beliefs of Ancient Egypt. kemetic Faithpredates Christianity, Catholocism, and a multitude of other religions.
    http://www.per-heh.org/about/kf/index.php
    Kemetic Faith?
What is the Kemetic Faith? The Kemetic Faith is the religious beliefs of Ancient Egypt. Kemet was the term which was used by the Ancient Egyptian peoples to name their country, and therefore Kemetic Faith refers to that belief system. The current name ‘Egypt’ was not the original name of the country. This came about when Greeks who came to Memphis, took the name of the temple (Hut-Ka-Ptah), and applied it to the entire city in their native dialect. The word which was derived was "Aiguptos", and was then applied to the river Nile. Translating Aiguptos from Greek to English, comes the word “Egypt”. The materials used for learning and education are derived from the ancient texts themselves. The various Papyrus collection which have been recovered, along with hieroglyph inscriptions, egyptological records, and other associated materials are all put to use. The Veridical Kemetic Faith Definitions : Veridical The Veridical Kemetic Faith
    • What is the Veridical Kemetic Faith? What does Veridical Kemetic Faith mean?
The term "Veridical Kemetic Faith" was chosen much like how other religious orginizations pick a term for their belief systems. In ancient Egypt, the people did not specifically give their religion or system of beliefs a name. They simply knew what was in their heart, and did not feel the need to label this. Instead of chosing a denomination or derivative from another system of beliefs, VKF was chosen. VKF is also very much a concept as it is the name of this faith. You can see the definition of the term "veridical" by following the link to the left. This concept is that anyone, regardless of differing opinion, or practices, who follows this ancient belief system and does not incorporate other beliefs from alternate religions, is considered to be following the VKF (even if they are not a member of Per-Heh). Should other beliefs from other religions be incorporated, they would not longer be considered to be following the Veridical Kemetic Faith. The materials used for learning and education are derived from the ancient texts themselves. The various Papyrus collection which have been recovered, along with hieroglyph inscriptions, egyptological records, and other associated materials are all put to use. As new discoveries are made, information may become outdated. In those cases, that information will be updated to include the recent discovery(s).

    ABOUT KEMETIC RELIGION
Em hotep! - In peace! Padineba'a , my Kemetic name, means "He who is Given by the Great God". This 'Great God' is Amun-Ra, my father(s) in Kemetic religion. I was blessed with the gift of this name by the Nisut AUS of the Kemetic Orthodox faith, as a birthday gift in December of the year 2000. (Right) The name of my Lord, Amun-Ra, in Kemetic script. My religion is the modern rebirth of the faith that was practiced for thousands of years in the land that we now call Egypt. Kemetic means "the Black Land", and it is the name by which ancient Egyptians refered to their land. Among the modern traditions that seek to revive this ancient faith, Kemetic Orthodoxy is the most conservative one, and it is very true to the original form of religion practiced in Kemet. It is *not* a New Age or eclectic religion, as Kemeticism was very much concerned with safeguarding the status quo and with stability and order! Kemetic religion has much in common with the worship of deities, and the theology of Hinduism. The parallels are many. This is perhaps due to the fact that both are among the religions that worship God in many names and forms that have flourished and evolved consistently for thousands of years. Kemetic Shemsu (=followers) believe in the One True God (Netjer), who manifests itself through many Names (the Netjeru, plural of Netjer). These Names of Netjer have their distinct personalities, likes and dislikes, qualities and ways in which they manifest that are peculiar to each. They are not merely 'god of mummies', 'god of rebellion', 'goddess of love, or motherhood', etc. They are much more complex than that. There is much information about Kemetic Orthodoxy and the Names of Netjer online. I would encourage anyone interested in learning more about Kemetic Orthodoxy to take a look at the
