Language can both help and trick us in cross-cultural communication. The following material is written in Messianic Jewish terminology and style. It shows us the challenges we "Christians" [ more ] face in cross-cultural communication with Jews. This material is based on Return of the Remnant: The Rebirth of Messianic Judaism Messianic terminology is used to express the biblical faith in the Messiah [ more ] because such terminology was how the New Covenant [ more ] faith was expressed in its earliest stages. Messianic believers like talking about their faith in the Messiah in a manner consistent with Jewish heritage and culture. Belief in the Messiah is consistent with being Jewish. He is the fulfillment of God's promises to Israel. Using Messianic terminology imparts faith in Messiah to children, friends and family in a manner consistent with Jewish heritage. Messianic terms communicate biblical truth without the negative baggage of historical anti-Semitism.

    THE REBIRTH OF MESSIANIC JUDAISM,
    by
    David Sedaca

The second half of the 20th century has witnessed the rise of Messianic Judaism, a movement that has finally found its niche in the religious world. Today, Messianic Judaism is rapidly growing in different parts of the world: Israel, North and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Because of its history and the impact of such a movement in the light of biblical interpretation, it cannot be dismissed as an experiment to be tested or a fad to be tried out. Any conscious analysis of Messianic Judaism has to be performed against its own historical and
biblical backdrop. What is Messianic Judaism?
Messianic Judaism is the term used to define a form of lifestyle and worship that fully identifies with Jewish customs and traditions while believing that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of the Jewish Scriptures At the same time, Messianic Judaism holds most emphatically that it is part of the universal body of Messiah, the church, but claims the right to express itself, both in its daily life and worship style, in a way that agrees with its Jewish heritage.
    Looking back through the years
The reappearance of Messianic Judaism. Messianic Judaism of today did not develop in a vacuum but it is the logical consequence of a process that began 2,000 years ago, when a young Jewish man began to preach that the messianic hopes proclaimed by the prophets of Israel were fulfilled in Him. Most scholars agree that this man, Yeshua, lived a lifestyle consistent with first century Judaism. From Jewish records and church historians, we know that, even after the first century, when Messianic Jews ceased to be the leaders of the church, there were individual Jews who believed in Jesus.

    What is True Messianic Judaism?
Q: "What is Truth? There are so many various religious sects and groups all claiming to have Truth, yet they differ widely" A nswer: "TRUTH" is a broad word. All claim to have it, though differing totally from each other; all stake their claims on the Bible/Torah/Tanach/Quran - and few indeed do change their stance. The Word, as an underlying golden thread throughout the Tanach (O.T. Scriptures), gives a double-threaded measure of Truth: Isa. 8:20 but note the context from verse 13 onwards:
"To the Law and to the Testimony ... if they speak not accordingly, it is because there is no light in them."

    Chapter 1
    Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Introduction:
Heils Geschichte the rift between the Church and Israel. Of course the Apostle Paul has stated this idea in one of the most powerful passages in the New Testament. Over the centuries there have been many groups and attempts to facilitate the work of G-od in accomplishing his will for Israel as it is described in the above passage from Romans. There have been in every century a number of prominent and many not so prominent Jews who have accepted Yeshua as the Messiah out of honesty and conviction, but by in large the Jewish community has not been open to the Gospel. The Message of Yeshua as the Messiah for the Jewish people has only received only minor attention by the church in general and even less attention by the spiritual leadership of the Jewish community. One of the purposes of this paper is to study the one of the major problems of Messianic Judaism and to propose a possible breakthrough that would change the atmosphere concerning Yeshua in the Jewish Camp.

The role of Messianic Congregations in the Judaism / Messianic / Christian World
Many people do not understand the relationship between Judaism / Messianic / Christian beliefs. This brief article will hopefully clarify that relationship from a Messianic Prospective.
R ole of Messianic Congregations History For the first 50 years after Messiah died and was resurrected, the majority of believers were Jewish. Estimates run as high as 30%-50% of the population of Jerusalem followed Yeshua. With the introduction of Gentile Believers and the destruction of the Temple; the make-up quickly changed. Within 200 years, Gentiles vastly outnumbered Jews within the body. This lead to the introduction of Hellenistic-pagan teachings, divorcement of scripture from its Jewish roots, and Anti-Semitic practices that lead to the total separation of Christianity from Jewish Thought.

Many people do not understand the relationship between Jewish / Messianic / Church. This brief artcile will hopefully clarify that relationship from a Messianic Prospective. Jewish or Judaism? People often equate Jewish with Judaism, but that is not always correct. A person born of Jewish Parents is ethnically Jewish (Rabbinical definition is the mother must be Jewish, while Scripture clearly identifies the father, or in the case of the B'rit Chadasha (New or Renewed Covenant), either (as is seen with the circumcision of Timothy whose mother was Jewish, but father Greek). By the law of return - a person who has Jewish blood from either grandparent my return to Isra'el). Gentile or Christian?
