[Sooner or later, every person will encounter a Jehovah's Witness, since their door-to-door and street evangelism is so thorough. They usually make an issue about knowing God's name , even to the point of calling themselves a Jehovah's Witness. This article will help the Christian answer them. It would also be a good idea to run off copies of this article and pass it on to any Jehovah's Witness you may know. May God be pleased to use it to bring many to true salvation.] In the New World Translation (NWT), the Bible of the Jehovah's Witnesses, we read the following: Therefore, the foremost feature of this translation is the restoration of the divine name to its rightful place in the English text. It has been done, using the commonly accepted English form "Jehovah" 6,973 times in the Hebrews Scriptures and 237 times in the Christian Greek Scriptures

48. Who Are The Jehovah's Witnesses And What Do They Believe?
Who are the Jehovah s witnesses and what do they believe? Are the Jehovah s witnesses Christian or a cult?
http://www.gotquestions.org/Jehovahs-Witnesses.html
Who are the Jehovah's Witnesses and what are their beliefs?
Question: "Who are the Jehovah's Witnesses and what are their beliefs?" Answer:
The sect known today as the Jehovah's Witnesses started out in Pittsburgh, PA as a Bible class started by Charles Taze Russel in 1870. Russel, then 18 years old, named his group the "Millennial Dawn Bible Study." They carried the name of the "Millennial Dawn" until a movement commonly referred to as the "Russellites" split in 1917. Charles T. Russell began a series of books he called "The Millennial Dawn" which stretched to six volumes before his death and contained much of the theology Russell espoused and the movement believed. After Russell's death in 1916, Judge J. F. Rutherford, Russell's friend and successor, wrote the seventh and final volume of the "Millennial Dawn" series, "The Finished Mystery", printing it in 1917. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society was founded in 1896 and quickly became the vehicle through which the "Millennial Dawn" movement began distributing their views to others. The Watchtower Bible and Tract society was moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1908. This became the home base of the "Russellites." They would be referred to by this name until 1931.

Jehovah's Witnesses
General Information Jehovah's Witnesses are a society of Christians who promote home study of the Bible, which they hold to be the complete Word of God. They believe that God's kingdom is an actual government now ruling in heaven that will soon restore the earth to its original paradisaic condition. They expect an early end to the present world system in a "great tribulation" from God that will rid the earth of wickedness and suffering. Following Armageddon will come a millennial reign over the earth by Jesus. The gaining of eternal life depends on complete obedience to Jehovah God and faith in the provision of Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. BELIEVE

The Witnesses encourage adherence to the Bible's moral standards. Because of their neutrality as to affairs of secular government, their refusal to salute any flag, and their rejection of the practice of blood transfusion (which they believe is forbidden by the Bible), the Witnesses have been the subject of controversy. The activities of Jehovah's Witnesses are coordinated by a governing body at international headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. In the more than 63,000 congregations worldwide, elders, male members meeting certain scriptural qualifications, preside as a body. Instruction and training are provided for all at five meetings a week, held primarily in "Kingdom Halls." The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., are the legal agencies of Jehovah's Witnesses. They print and distribute the Bible. Their principal periodical, The Watchtower, has a circulation of 15,290,000 copies in more than 100 languages.

The history of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Ukraine began in the 1890s. In 1891 the president of the Watch Tower Society and founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses movement, Charles Taze Russel, visited Odessa on his way to Constantinople. A few years later, Ukrainians who had traveled to the United States in search of work began to send bible publications to their relatives. Some of these emigrants returned to Ukraine and formed bible study groups. On March 24, 1911 Russel traveled to Lviv to give a bible speech to the residents of the city. In 1926 a Bible Study office was established in Lviv on Pekarska Street. In 1939, at the beginning of World War Two, the preaching activity of over 1000 active Witnesses was forbidden. During the war many of them suffered and some perished. After the war the repressions continued and reached their peak in April, 1951, when over 6100 Witnesses from western Ukraine were exiled to Siberia for life. The government's hostility toward the Witnesses began to decrease at the end of the 1980s. The Jehovah's Witnesses Religious Organization was officially registered in Ukraine on February 28, 1991. This was the first registration of Jehovah's Witnesses on the territory of the former USSR.

North Bay Metroactive Home Archives Witness Abuse Are Jehovah's Witnesses covering up child molestation? By Joy Lanzendorfer A s Michael Jacksonraised as a Jehovah's Witnessstands trial for child molestation in Southern California, another controversy involving the apocalyptic religion and child sexual abuse is unfolding in Napa Superior Court. A string of lawsuits accuses Jehovah Witnesses of repeatedly covering up cases of child molestation. The plaintiffs say that not only were they sexually abused by church elders, but that other church officials knew about the abuse and refused to take the necessary steps to report it, instead allowing sexual predators to retain positions of power in the congregation. The alleged abuses span 27 years, from 1970 to 1997. The Napa case names three plaintiffs, Charissa Welch, 35; Nicole D., 32; and Tabitha H., 30. They are suing the Napa Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses as well as Jehovah's Witness headquarters in Pennsylvania and New York for an unspecified amount of money. Originally, Sacramento law firm Nolan Saul Brelsford brought 17 cases against Jehovah's Witness churches throughout California, including one in Sonoma County. The firm has dropped 11 cases and the remaining six lawsuits span several counties, including Napa, Santa Clara, Yolo, Placer and Tehama. Because the Napa case was the farthest along in the proceedings, the lawsuits were coordinated and are now being tried in Napa as one large case.

Recruiting efforts expected to decrease need for transfusions BROOKLYN, NYHuman rights activists and religious groups are in an uproar over the latest tactic being used by some hospitals in an attempt to weather the nation's latest shortage of blood.
Recruting Efforts Underway Jehovah's Witnesses, long known for their unique stance on blood transfusions - they do not accept them for religious reasons - are sitting side-by-side with blood drive volunteers at hospitals throughout the New York Tri-state region, placed there by officials in a strategy some are calling "brilliant." Wanda Whitaker, a health care administrator, praised the recruiting efforts as "a stroke of genius, nothing less. Every person who comes by, whether they donate blood, or become a Jehovah's Witness, it's that much less we have to worry about there not being enough blood to go around."

(Watchtower 11/15/63, p. 688:) More will be added to this list as it is gathered. Please check back often. Updated The following information is excerpts from reliable sources throughout the web. Most of these articles quote from the Watchtowers own printed material, which at one time the Watchtower ordered to be turned in by its members. To fully understand these excerpts one must read the material from which they came. It has been proven that The Watchtower Society has been involved in Enochian magick since its founding by Charles Taze Russell. Russell himself has been linked to a Satanic bloodline and was operating with key figures whose agenda has been a New World order. We all know how important the bloodline was to Christ through David. So is the bloodline to Satan to bring about the Anti-Christ New World Order. Russell was part of this bloodline. To understand the Satanic Bloodlines, start here.

Telephone Sex?
Both telephone sex and cybersex are gaining popularity Related topics: "PHONE SEX," according to one well-known American magazine, "has replaced the love letter as the preferred means of romantic communication for couples who find themselves apart." What is phone sex? It involves talking about or listening to explicit erotic matters on the phone. Those engaging in the practice often masturbate to relieve their arousal. Whether the obscene talk takes place between courting couples or between strangers, phone sex is alarmingly popular. In fact, some are openly advocating it. "It's the safest sex you can have," claims one woman. Apparently, quite a few agree with her. For instance, in October 2000, in response to an increase in HIV infections, a group of Russian health experts took out newspaper advertisements to promote telephone sex. Just why has this practice become so popular? The book
