61. The Church On The Way - About Us
We are part of the family of the international church of the foursquare gospel. We are foursquare in the full meaning of the word ie, forthright,
http://www.tcotw.org/missionvision.html
Mission Statement The Church On The Way exists as a local congregation to witness to the world of God's love as revealed in His Son Jesus Christ, our crucified, risen, exalted and soon-returning King; and we live to serve our community in His same love and power, knowing He is "the same yesterday, today and forever" (Heb. 13:8). We are part of the family of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. We are "foursquare" in the full meaning of the word: i.e., forthright, unequivocating, solidly and boldly presenting a firm stand. Our firm stand pertains to the elements of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In a day when a diluted message is producing deluded people, we stress a thorough going proclamation of the Word of God, emphasizing the four essential ministries of the Lord Jesus to those who will believe. Vision Statement We seek to teach the Word of God and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, shaping and equipping our church family so that believers will be nourished and empowered to fulfill their God-ordained, created purpose and ministry. We seek to prepare people who care for one another, and who sensitively reach to our City and our World that all may be saved, being brought to a living faith in Christ as Savior and Lord

"Pentecostal Women in Ministry:
Where Do We Go From Here?"
By
Sheri R. Benvenuti
Pentecostal women who are called to ministry walk a fine and often precarious line. We, on the one hand, are not radical feminists who demand certain fights, suspicion patriarchal hierarchy as the greatest of all human evils, or refer to God as "she" at every turn. However, on the other hand, we are not simply passive about our call to ministry. We do notice the "man's world" in which we must function, and we understand that the "female," too, helps make up what we know about the image of God. We are not women who wish to displace men, nor do we view women who are not called to ministry as being in any way inferior. We are women who simply and humbly ask that we be given room to be obedient to the Lord who has called us. We are certainly not the first generation of Pentecostal women who have pursued such an opportunity.
When one reads about some of the great women in our history such as Aimee Semple McPherson, Alice Belle Garrigus, Maria Woodworth-Etter, Marie Burgess, Kathryn Kuhlman, and Mae Eleanore Frey, it is encouraging to know that these extremely gifted women ministered with great success at a time in history that did not make life easy for them. Their call to preach seemed to supersede everything else in their lives, motivating them to pay a difficult price to fulfill God's will. Their faithfulness is of great encouragement to every Pentecostal woman in ministry today.

Free Methodist Church of North America Freewill Baptist (National Association Of) This evangelical group of Armenian Baptists was organized by Paul Palmer in 1717 at Chowan, North Carolina. Another movement (teaching the same doctrines of free grace, free salvation, and free will) was organized June 30, 1780, in New Durham, New Hampshire, but there was no connection with the southern organization except for a fraternal relationship. The northern line expanded more rapidly and extended into the West and Southwest. This body merged with the Northern Baptist Convention October 5, 1911, but a remnant of churches reorganized into the Cooperative Central Association of Free Will Baptists December 28, 1916, at Pattonburg, Missouri. Churches in the southern line were organized into various conferences from the beginning, and finally united in one General Conference on November 5, 1935, to for the National Association of Free Will Baptists. Friends General Conference (Quakers) General Association of Regular Baptist Churches Founded in May 1932 in Chicago, Illinois by a group of churches which had withdrawn from the Northern Baptist Convention (now the American Baptist Churches in the USA) because of doctrine differences. Its Confession of Faith, which it requires all churches to subscribe to, is essentially the old historic New Hampshire Confession of Faith with a premillennial ending applied to the last article.

"The legislation challenged here is the camel's nose under the tent, the cutting edge of an attempt, by making the church pay for what it explicitly opposes, in effect to silence a church's message and mission anytime it does not conform to the prevailing secular wisdom. That is a bad law, a bad policy, and unconstitutional," the church groups declared in a friend of the court brief. "Forcing Catholic Charities to pay for insurance coverage for contraceptives in its own workplace violates the First Amendment to the United States Constitution," they declared.

Evangelist, religious denomination founder Also called: Sister Aimee, Aimee Semple McPherson Hutton Aimee Semple McPherson was the first famous Pentecostal evangelist, seeking publicity to broaden the audience for her religious message, using modern technology (including the automobile and radio) truly a pioneer in religious history. The Foursquare Gospel Church which she founded is now a movement with more than two million members around the world, beginning with her 5,300 seat Angelus Temple in California. But most people know her name mainly for an infamous kidnapping scandal.
