Part I.
Part I.
Introduction:-The Purpose of the Book a Vindication of Christian Doctrine, and Especially of the Cross, Against the Scoffing Objection of Gentiles. The Effects of This Doctrine Its Main Vindication.
The knowledge of our religion and of the truth of things is independently manifest rather than in need of human teachers, for almost day by day it asserts itself by facts, and manifests itself brighter than the sun by the doctrine of Christ. 2. Still, as you nevertheless desire to hear about it, Macarius , come let us as wemay be able set forth a few points of the faith of Christ: able though you are to find it out from the divine oracles, but yet generously desiring to hear from others as well. 3. For although the sacred and inspired Scriptures are sufficient to declare the truth,-while there are other works of our blessed teachers , and Christ alone is worshipped and the Father known through Him, and, while gainsayers are put to shame, He daily invisibly wins over the souls of these gainsayers

63. Mother "good", Godless Shock
Onion esque satire.

Smalltown Herald
Area mother "good", despite being Godless Heathen
A local woman, named only as Mrs S., has been called a "good, kind mother", even though she freely admits to being a Godless atheist. Mr S. apparently infiltrated the local good Christian community seven years ago, when her family moved to follow her husband's job. On the surface, they appear much like any other normal family - he works at a local bank, their two children attend school, and she works part-time a nearby nursery school during the day. When the terrible truth was finally revealed, the once-sleepy neighbourhood became embroiled in turmoil.
Godless Mother mingling with unsuspecting "friends" Neighbours of the heathen family became suspicious when Mrs S. repeatedly failed to attend church, calling into question her own morality and raising fears for the normal spiritual upbringing of the children. One of Mrs S' good Christian friends offered to take the children to church with her own family, but was angrily rebuked: "Oh, Jill, thank you very much. I do appreciate the kind offer, but we don't really believe in religion, sorry. But do feel free to come back here after church - I've just baked some fresh muffins.", she reportedly spat. Soon, the entire street knew the awful revelation. These people in their midst, pretending to be a normal, happy, stable family, were in fact quite the opposite - Atheists!

The Heathen Hangout (HH) is a private discussion forum with dedicated to being primarily a social club and semi-support forum for nontheists, which also seeks to provide an intellectually stimulating atmosphere on its discussion forum without being too abstruse. One requirement for membership in the HH is absence of belief in any monotheist, interventionist god. All rules are based on the HH's role as primarily a social club; while vocal disagreements are freely allowed and aired within the HH, anti-social behaviours such advocating bigotries etc. will not be tolerated. For more information on the reasons for existence and the rules of the Heathen Hangout, please see our FAQ Those with non-conventional religious beliefs such as Deism, Pantheism, Taoism, Wiccanism or so on excluding an interventionist monotheistic deity are welcome to join, but please do not then repetitively preach within the HH. Discussion and debate are always welcome, but as the HH is primarily a social club, obsessive preaching of any kind at all is out of place.

A Better Future 12. Heathen By curating this year's Meltdown festival at London's South Bank Centre, a role previously filled by Nick Cave Scott Walker and John Peel , David Bowie is asserting himself as an influential artist. The release of Heathen, Bowie's first album in three years, marks an important crossroads for him as he makes a concerted effort to transform from mere musician of note into musical godfather. The album features guests Pete Townshend and Dave Grohl , and cover versions of songs by The Pixies and Neil Young . The producer is Tony Visconti, arguably the best of all Bowie producers, clearly on hand to help rekindle the good times. In marketing terms this album makes a big noise - that David Bowie remains one of pop's most successful and inventive chameleons, that everybody loves him, that he's back and that he means business.

We have been getting this question a lot lately, in fact, it is the most common info request we receive ...so here ya go :-) Princeton WordNet
(n) paganism pagan religion heathenism
"Any of various religions other than Christianity or Judaism or Islamism"
What is Paganism? An Impartial Overview
Paganism is a religion of nature, in other words Pagans revere Nature. Pagans see the divine as immanent in the whole of life and the universe Pagan Federation International "Paganism is a spiritual way of life which has its roots in the ancient nature religions of the world. It is principally rooted in the old religions of Europe, though some adherents also find great worth in the indigenous beliefs of other countries. Such belief in the sacredness of all things can be found world-wide. Pagans see this as their heritage, and retain the beliefs and values of their ancestors in forms adapted to suit modern life. We celebrate the sanctity of Nature, revering the Divine in all things; the vast, unknowable spirit that runs through the universe, both seen and unseen." I've Got it, Holy Rollovers! An Amendment Banning Divorce!
They're here, they spread fear, get used to it. After all, Another Justice Sunday wrapped up for the second time around. And so, now knowing full well that marriage is what's holding the very fiber of this nation together, I've come up with an idea to save our threadbare throngs of evildoers from moral turpitude ~ A Constitutional Amendment to ban ALL divorces! Can't you see the host of problems this proposed amendment would solve? Just take a look-see:

Rock's Heathen Speaks
Interview with David Bowie
June 16, 2002
If David Bowie, whose recording career in rock music stretches back to 1964, had followed in the footsteps of so many of his own contemporaries, we might have written him off more than a decade ago. But with recent albums that have dug deep into outsider art (Outside) and tapped into the mainline of state-of-the-art club music (Earthling) , Bowie, who recently turned 55 this past January, is anything but a shadow of his former self.
And to prove this point better than anything Bowie has just released his 25th studio release entitled, Heathen - a dark, yet engaging album that tugs at the hem of his own past, while looking ahead towards a somewhat uncertain future.
Here Livewire presents David Bowie candidly discussing his new album, heathenism, as well as some old familiar friends, Ziggy's muse and his own inner ghosts.
How did you and Tony Visconti get back together again?
Bowie: Tony Visconti and I had been wanting to work together again for a few years now. Both of us had fairly large commitments and for a long time we couldn't see a space in which we could get anything together. As spring came around, last year, things began to ease up. I told Mark Plati and my band that I was going to disappear for a while and put this thing together with Tony. They were very understanding, they've worked with me long enough to know that we would be back together again before long.
That's when it all came together. I went over and stayed at Tony's place for a while and we talked and played around in his home studio to get a feel of what I was after. Ironically, the first piece that we recorded there in demo form and were excited about is one song that never made it to the final list. However, it was our starting point.

Oasis: still having the time of their lives Oasis Extras
OASIS' 'HEATHEN CHEMISTRY' ALBUM TRACK-BY-TRACK
1. 'The Hindu Times'
The single, driven by a typical Noel guitar hook. With controlled feedback, big drums and driving guitars it sounds like Oasis hitting the ground running.
Sample lyric: "God give me soul in your rock and roll band/And I get so high I just can't feel it" 2. 'Force Of Nature' The first of three that sees Noel taking or sharing lead vocals. Double track drums recall post- Beatles Lennon , but the feel and drive is pure Slade . Sounds like a vicious broadside at ex, Meg Mathews . First listening leaves you yearning for Liam to take vocal, but it's a grower and could become a standard. Sample lyric: "Smoking all my stash/Burning all my cash/Bet you knew right away/It's all over town that the sun's going down on the days of your easy life" 3. 'Hung In a Bad Place'

Gabriel actually started school last week, I've just been a lazy bum and haven't gotten around to posting anything lately. He's started a new school, which is tiny in comparison to his old school. There are only two 2nd grade classrooms. He is loving his new teacher, and the new afterschool care at the YMCA right on campus. I wish kids could keep their love of school all their lives. I'm not sure when it will start being a drag for him, I'm certainly not looking forward to the days when school becomes a pain in the ass. Posted by Heathen on September 06, 2005 at 21:17 in
