REGULAR BAPTIST PRESS
AND
THE KING JAMES BIBLE AND THE RECEIVED TEXT
By Missionary David C. Bennett, D. Min. September 28, 2004 Spiritually I grew up feeding on the King James Bible and Regular Baptist Press (RBP) Sunday school material . As a young boy the church in which I was saved used RPB material and when I went into the ministry the first church I pastored used RBP materials. When we came to Australia in 1979 with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (then an approved agency of the General Association of Regular Baptists, GARBC) RBP was kind enough to supply us and other GARBC approved missionaries with free Sunday school material. The RBP materials were well presented and a great help in our teaching ministry. In the mid 1980’s I was studying for a Masters degree through Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary . By the providence and good hand of the Lord I transferred from Grand Rapids to Bethany Theological Seminary. One of the courses at Bethany required reading books on the Textual issue of the New Testament. The books chosen by the professor for the course were written by Dr. David Otis Fuller and Dean of Chichester John Burgon. Through reading these books my spiritual eyes were opened to the real Bible Textual issue. Therefore I became more conscious of the commentaries I used and the teaching materials we were using in our ministry. In the very early 1990’s the Executive Editor of Regular Baptist Press, Vernon Miller, now retired, visited Sydney, Australia

Grace Baptist Church of Bellingham, WA welcomes you to our home on the web.
The most important question is not, what church you go to, it's what is your relationship with Jesus Christ? Just going to our church, or any other church, in the end will not make any difference. When one stands before the judgment seat, God will not be impressed with denominational labels, or church attendance. The only label He will look for is the one that says, 'saved by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.'
If you want to know more about God's plan of salvation, click here or contact us in person at one of our services, or by e-mail, phone, or snail mail, our contact information is below. You can also follow the link below to God's plan. Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done. Sing to Him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about His miracles. 1 Chronicles 16:8,9 -NLT- Decisions Every day of our lives, we have to make a number of decisions. Some are small decisions like what to have for breakfast or lunch, or what clothes to wear. These decisions have little consequence. Some decisions are a bit more important, such as which job, who to marry, how many children to have, or where to live. There are still other decisions that can have lethal consequences, such as pushing a red light, or cutting in front of a truck.
There is one decision that is more important than any other, and that is, what to do about Jesus Christ. The consequences of this decision will effect you for all eternity. If you don't know Jesus as your Savior, and want to find out more, or you are not sure that you are saved, or you are saved but are not walking close to God, check out God's plan. [Categories: Religion in the United States, American culture]
Religion in the United States is an integral part of the (Click link for more info and facts about culture of the United States) culture of the United States . The U.S. is the most religious of the developed nations. (A town in northwestern New Mexico near the Arizona border) Gallup International reports that 57 percent of American citizens regularly attend (The act of public worship following prescribed rules) religious services , compared to 15 percent of French citizens, 10 percent of (Click link for more info and facts about UK citizens) UK citizens , and 25 percent of (Click link for more info and facts about Israeli citizens.) Israeli citizens.
The American religious tradition is primarily Christian, but the Constitutional guarantee of (A civil right guaranteed by the 1st amendment to the US constitution) freedom of religion and the diversity of the population means that no one religion holds sway over the entirety of the population. Also, a tradition of (Click link for more info and facts about separation of church and state) separation of church and state developed early in the nation's history contributes to this diversity. Culture "wars" often have roots in religious differences, but religious violence is rare and on a small scale.

Dispensationalism
The following article was written for the Encyclopedia of the Great Plains, a project being developed by the Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln; it was scheduled for publication in 2001, but no sign of it yet as of 2003. There are two versions of the article included here, both are first drafts and have not yet passed through the editorial process. The shorter version (about 300 words); there is a longer version included below. Dispensationalism Among evangelical churches on the Plains, dispensationalism is an influential hermeneutical framework intended to make sense of the varied literature of the Bible. The system assumes the existence of a personal God who created the world and humankind; an historical, grammatical interpretation of the Bible; and a premillennial understanding of eschatology. God's providential plan for human history is seen to include distinguishable phases (including law, church, and kingdom) with differing purposes. The institutions of each phase are distinct: Israel and the church are discontinuous agencies through whom God accomplishes his purposes. Plains churches known for dispensationalism include the Berean Fellowship of Churches (centered in Nebraska), Independent Fundamental Churches of America (Kansas, Colorado), General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Montana), Baptist Bible Fellowship (centered in Missouri), and World Baptist Fellowship (Texas). The American Sunday School Union and Rural Home Missionary Association have also been active in ministry in the Plains states. Dispensationalism in mainline denominations has been minimal.

Faith Baptist Church
Lafayette, Indiana Faith Baptist Church began as a vision of the late Baden Rowe, Pastor of Kossuth Street Baptist Church and its members. Services began in February 1964 under the direction of Reverend Roland Reed, then a missionary with the Fellowship of Baptists for Home Missions. Rev. Reed served the church for two and one-half years before going on to Minnesota. The first church building was in the basement of the Farm Credit Building on Teal Road. By June, 1964 the original 16 members had grown to 70. The time was obviously right and the need was great. Encouraged by this early success, the members purchased lots in the Tecumseh III Addition on South 18th Street. Originally it was thought that four lots would be enough, but they stretched their faith and bought six. Even this great exercise of faith proved to be much too small in later years. The church continued to grow, and in 1967 a two level addition was added to the back of the church to accommodate more classes and office space. This additional 4,224 square feet cost $50,000.

The following chart attempts to group related "families" of Churches. This might help you narrow down the ones you want to consider. For example, a whole section of them are in a branch in the chart called "Arminian". If you go to the Arminian presentation in BELIEVE, and find that is not for you, then you will have eliminated a whole bunch of possibilities. If, instead, you DO have interest in Arminian theology, you have again narrowed it down. We hope to add "descriptions and commentary" to many of the entries in this chart. However, given the approach of BELIEVE, of NOT introducing bias, we are having trouble seeing how we will do this. For example, a commentary on one of the Churches below includes "very legalistic. SEPARATISTS!" in the text. We don't know whether those statements might be true or not about that Church, but they just sound rather biased to us! This chart is VERY general and minimal. There are literally tens of thousands of additional lines that could be included, for various unique Churches, like say, the Amana Colonies. MANY of those Churches seem to be hybrids where some local group has seen some value in each of two or more existing Denominations. So, there might be an "Evangelical Lutheran Episcopal Congregational Methodist Church", and it would be tough to even GUESS what they believed! You'd have to contact such a Church and request a Statement of Faith from them.

(Christian) Fundamentalism
General Information Fundamentalism is a term popularly used to describe strict adherence to Christian doctrines based on a literal interpretation of the Bible. This usage derives from a late 19th and early 20th century transdenominational Protestant movement that opposed the accommodation of Christian doctrine to modern scientific theory and philosophy. With some differences among themselves, fundamentalists insist on belief in the inerrancy of the Bible, the virgin birth and divinity of Jesus Christ, the vicarious and atoning character of his death, his bodily resurrection, and his second coming as the irreducible minimum of authentic Christianity. This minimum was reflected in such early declarations as the 14 point creed of the Niagara Bible Conference of 1878 and the 5 point statement of the Presbyterian General Assembly of 1910. Two immediate doctrinal sources for fundamentalist thought were Millenarianism and biblical inerrancy. Millenarianism, belief in the physical return of Christ to establish a 1,000 year earthly reign of blessedness, was a doctrine prevalent in English speaking Protestantism by the 1870s. At the same time, powerful conservative forces led by Charles Hodge and Benjamin Warfield opposed the growing use of literary and historical criticism in biblical studies, defending biblical inspiration and the inerrant authority of the Bible. Baptist churches are part of a Christian movement often regarded as an Evangelical Protestant denomination . Baptists emphasize a believer's baptism by full immersion, which is performed after a profession of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. A congregational governance system gives autonomy to individual local Baptist churches, which are sometimes associated in organizations such as the Southern Baptist Convention . In the late 1990s, there were about 43 million Baptists worldwide with about 33 million in the United States Contents showTocToggle("show","hide") 1 Beliefs 1.1 Baptist distinctives acrostic 1.2 Believer's baptism 1.3 Congregationalism ... edit
Beliefs
Baptist churches do not have a central governing authority, resulting in a wide range of beliefs from one Baptist church to another. Baptist distinctives are beliefs that are common among Baptist churches, some of which are also shared with many other post-reformational denominations.
