The Voice of Silence (A Poem)
Introduction
The society covers all forms of Buddhism, offering both an introduction without commitment and an opportunity for involvement by the more serious. There is a weekly meditation class and a discussion group. The meditation class is for beginners. Its secular techniques for improved mindfulness are as valid for someone wishing to improve their concentration span as for a person committed to the search for enlightenment. The discussion group is an informal meeting where aspects of Buddhism and its philosophy are studied. Both events are led by a qualified member of the Western Buddhist Order. There will also be other occasional events, including all day meditation retreats, talks and trips. So if you're just hoping to improve your concentration, have an interest in Buddhism or are searching for a more spiritual side to your life, we'll welcome you wholeheartedly to any of our events!
Buddhism
Buddhism is a non-theistic philosophy. It is essentially a means to psychological and spiritual wholeness. In its own language, Buddhism is the 'way to Enlightenment'. In more modern terms it is the instrument of the Higher Evolution of mankind, that is to say, the instrument of the evolution of each individual human being from an unenlightened condition to the condition of Supreme Enlightenment (Perfect Peace of Mind, Freedom, Insight, Wisdom and Compassion).

near Alicante in Spain. Enshrined in the Stupa were
relics of his teacher - Dhardo Rimpoche who died in
