Five Easy Steps to Host a Weekend

Episcopal Marriage Encounter
Episcopal Marriage Encounter invites you on a journey - a deepening of couple love. The Weekend format is especially designed to allow a husband and wife to pause awhile and focus on each other. Every now and then we all need to examine our lives and directions to determine if we are going where we want to go. An Episcopal Marriage Encounter Weekend offers a couple just such an opportunity.
How Did Episcopal Marriage Encounter Start?

Marriage Encounter began in Spain in the 1960's as a program to enable couples with basically good marriages to enrich the quality of their lives together. In fact, the name Marriage Encounter comes from a direct translation of the Spanish word meaning to find or discover . In 1967, Marriage Encounter came to America where the Weekend was extremely well received. The success of Marriage Encounter led to the formation of the Episcopal expression (EME) in 1971 and since then EME and other faith expressions have expanded worldwide. Since its inception, over 3 million couples in 45 countries have attended a Marriage Encounter Weekend.

    Quotations:
One reality; two viewpoints: " Today, there are two religions in the Episcopal Church. One remains faithful to the biblical truth and received teachings of the Church, while the other rejects them. " Concerned Clergy and Laity of the Episcopal Church " There are a growing number of places in the church were lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons are welcomed, affirmed in their ministries and blessed in their committed relationships. They are, however, many more places where they are still not fully included in the life of the church. "
    Introduction:
The Episcopal Church, USA is one province in the world-wide Anglican Communion, which also includes the Anglican Church of Canada and the Church of England in England. Of all of the Christian denominations in the United States, the Episcopal Church (USA), the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Methodist Church are probably experiencing the greatest amount of conflict over equal rights for their gay and lesbian members. More liberal Christian denominations have already largely accepted homosexuality as simply another normal, natural, and morally neutral sexual orientation. More conservative denominations have retained the historical Christian beliefs which condemn all same-sex behavior, regardless of the nature of the relationship. Two sexually related topics are currently placing extreme stress on the Episcopal Church and the rest of the
