Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment
"We are happy to present to the world an ideal system of education, where not only will the intellect be fed and satisfied, but the basis of the intellect, the field of pure intelligence, the source and basis of life, will be fully realised by everyone. The result will be a life that is not baseless, but that has a profound basis in the lively field of all possibilities." Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
"I watched in disbelief as a class of eight and nine-year-olds went into their classroom after playtime, sat at their desks and started working before their teacher arrived" 'The Times' - London "Three years ago, every member of Years 10 and 11 won or was runner-up in a national poetry competition. Last year all the pupils got 10 or more GCSEs at C grade or above". 'Lancashire Life' magazine "As well as following the national curriculum pupils take part in twice-daily meditation classes based around the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique... ...Research from Taiwan recently published in the scientific journal Intelligence found that the 'intelligence and creativity' of students was boosted by TM".

82. The Culture Industry: Enlightenment As Mass Deception
A chapter from Adorno and Horkheimer s Dialectic of enlightenment on themassproduction of culture.

Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer (1944)
The Culture Industry: Enlightenment as Mass Deception
Source: Dialectic of Enlightenment
Transcribed: by Andy Blunden 1998; proofed and corrected Feb. 2005. THE sociological theory that the loss of the support of objectively established religion, the dissolution of the last remnants of pre-capitalism, together with technological and social differentiation or specialisation, have led to cultural chaos is disproved every day; for culture now impresses the same stamp on everything. Films, radio and magazines make up a system which is uniform as a whole and in every part. Even the aesthetic activities of political opposites are one in their enthusiastic obedience to the rhythm of the iron system. The decorative industrial management buildings and exhibition centers in authoritarian countries are much the same as anywhere else. The huge gleaming towers that shoot up everywhere are outward signs of the ingenious planning of international concerns, toward which the unleashed entrepreneurial system (whose monuments are a mass of gloomy houses and business premises in grimy, spiritless cities) was already hastening. Even now the older houses just outside the concrete city centres look like slums, and the new bungalows on the outskirts are at one with the flimsy structures of world fairs in their praise of technical progress and their built-in demand to be discarded after a short while like empty food cans. The ruthless unity in the culture industry is evidence of what will happen in politics. Marked differentiations such as those of A and B films, or of stories in magazines in different price ranges, depend not so much on subject matter as on classifying, organising, and labelling consumers. Something is provided for all so that none may escape; the distinctions are emphasised and extended. The public is catered for with a hierarchical range of mass-produced products of varying quality, thus advancing the rule of complete quantification. Everybody must behave (as if spontaneously) in accordance with his previously determined and indexed level, and choose the category of mass product turned out for his type. Consumers appear as statistics on research organisation charts, and are divided by income groups into red, green, and blue areas; the technique is that used for any type of propaganda.

The European Enlightenment
General Glossary Epistemology Cogito, ergo sum "I think, therefore I am." From that point onwards in European culture, subjective truth would hold a higher and more important epistemological place than objective truth, skepticism would be built into every inquiry, method would hold a higher place than practice, and the mind would be separated from the body. These concepts, taken together, constitute what we call Cartesianism
, named after Descartes.
General Glossary Empiricism systematic doubt . The fundamental process of empirical and experimental science is to doubt explanations and results of previous experiments: when a result is announced or a theory propounded, experiments are run to either reproduce those results or prove by experience that the theory is valid. This attitude of doubting everything is built into the very system of science itself: the purpose of experiments is to allow for these experiments to be repeated in case the results are wrong. Bridge to Light.com is the place to be if you are interested in your spiritual, psychic and meditation development.
Moving across the bridge to light is a choice of existence. One must choose for themselves whether or not they will strive to reach enlightenment. For some people enlightenment will include aspects of metaphysics and psychic abilities... Other people will seek to deepen their spiritual connection, with no paranormal or parapsychology interests. Once you have made the choice to cross the bridge to light, consider starting meditation or a form of quiet inner prayer.
Meditation or prayer may not be needed for your enlightenment but it may enhance and excel your process to becoming a full human being. If you want to start meditation get yourself a copy of the Free E-Book " Meditation Made Easy ". The realm of spirit will not do your inner work for you. You will have things placed on your path to assist your growth. Intuition and psychic experiences are not the end goal but a possible function that may be developed to become the fully living

This has made it lean, fast and efficient for the task it does. It has been successfully compiled and run on Linux, Solaris, and Digital platforms. This window manager makes heavy use of the Shape extension and pixmaps, although because of its complete rewrite it is now fairly usable on lower end systems. It is currently in a development release stage where usable distributions are downloadable from the official Enlightenment site . « What is Enligthenment ? » (« Qu'est-ce que les Lumières? »), in Rabinow (P.), éd., The Foucault Reader, New York, Pantheon Books, 1984, pp. 32-50. Today when a periodical asks its readers a question, it does so in order to collect opinions on some subject about which everyone has an opinion already; there is not much likelihood of learning anything new. In the eighteenth century, editors preferred to question the public on problems that did not yet have solutions. I don't know whether or not that practice was more effective; it was unquestionably more entertaining. In any event, in line with this custom, in November 1784 a German periodical, Berlinische Monatschrift published a response to the question: Was ist Aufklärung? And the respondent was Kant. A minor text, perhaps. But it seems to me that it marks the discreet entrance into the history of thought of a question that modern philosophy has not been capable of answering, but that it has never managed to get rid of, either. And one that has been repeated in various forms for two centuries now. From Hegel through Nietzsche or Max Weber to Horkheimer or Habermas, hardly any philosophy has failed to confront this same question, directly or indirectly. What, then, is this event that is called the Aufklärung and that has determined, at least in part, what we are, what we think, and what we do today? Let us imagine that the

96. Johann Georg Hamann [Internet Encyclopedia Of Philosophy]
Article by Ted Kinnaman, from the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Reviews the life and work of this obscure enlightenment thinker, with special attention to his metacritique of Kant.
http://www.iep.utm.edu/h/Hamann.htm
Johann Georg Hamann reductio ad absurdum of Enlightenment thought: Scientific reason leads us inevitably either to doubt or to deny the reality of the world around us. Three of Hamann’s intellectual achievements are of particular significance: His writings Socratic Memorabilia ) and Aesthetica in nuce Aesthetics in a Nutshell ), in which he opposed Enlightenment thought with an indirect and ironic mode of discourse emphasizing the importance of aesthetic experience and the role of genius in intuiting nature; his views on language; and his influential criticisms of Kant’s critical thought, expressed in his "Metakritik über den Purismum der Vernunft" and in his commentary, in a letter to Johann Gottfried Herder, on Kant’s essay "What is Enlightenment?"
Table of Contents (Clicking on the links below will take you to those parts of this article) Sokratische Denkwürdigkeiten and Aesthetica in nuce Hamann's rejection of the Enlightenment was greeted with distress by his friends Kant and Berens. Although they hoped that he could be won back to the cause of reason, these hopes were dashed with the publication in 1759 of Sokratische Denkwürdigkeiten , and the following year of Aesthetica in nuce . Together these two works offer a world-view that might be described as antirationalist but not irrationalist. Hamann's intention in the Sokratische Denkwürdigkeiten is to offer a defense of religious faith that renders such faith immune against rational attack while in no way accepting the rationalist’s terms of debate. In order to do this, however, he faces a seemingly insoluble problem: He must undermine the grounds of the Enlightenment view of reason and religion without committing himself to other, opposed positions that are subject to rational criticism and refutation. Several aspects of how he goes about this were very influential in German thought in the 18

99. The Dyad Way To Enlightenment - Spiritual Path Based On Communication
enlightenment Intensives presented by Bill Savoie of Alabama, USA. Contains information about enlightenment, the Dyad process and scheduled seminars.
http://www.dyad.org/
Who are you? What are you? What is another? What Is life? ... What is understanding? The Dyad Way To Enlightenment
"Dedicated to Helping You Reach Enlightenment"
e-mail Bill Savoie "Dedicated to Helping": There is a lot of confusion about what Help really is. The problem is when "Help" is given to avoid communication. In other words, I give you help, as I define it, rather than as you define it. People get into trouble giving help, since often times the person does not ask for it, and does not want it, and after receiving it is worse off. Real help occurs when both parties understand one another, and then engage in some action that benefits the person asking for help. Enlightenment? What is that? And why this web site? If we want Enlightenment we must do more than clean up our communication cycles and tell our truth, we must also protect people from unwanted contamination. We must let them be free from us. For these goals the "Dyad" was created. The "Dyad" helps one obtain -pure - clean communication without the normally attached abuse. It will allow you to really grow in your own chosen direction and connect to your deep normally hidden self.
