THE DEVIL IN THE MIRROR AND OTHER CHRISTADELPHIAN THEOLOGY BY ROBERT C. HILL, THB. (First published in The Discerner Apr/May/June, 2000) Several of their main theological teachings will be examined as this challenge is accepted; but first a brief historical sketch. The Christadelphians (Brothers of Christ) have a history dating back to the middle of the nineteenth century when their founder, John Thomas (1805-1871), officially registered that name during the American Civil War. http://www.antipas.org The split has produced two named groups: the Amended and the Unamended both of which are operative today. The major issue for this schism came about over what is termed resurrectional responsibility: For the Amended, all who are responsible will be resurrected (both baptized and unbaptized who know the will of God). For the Unamended, only those in Christ will be resurrected, while those out of Christ will be annihilated (cf. Rev 20:11-15 which clearly indicates a resurrection of those not included in the book of life, contrary to these views). The doctrines they teach break down at some point to the biblical truths ascertained through sound interpretative methods.

    http://www.sfchristadelphian.org/pages/statement.html
    Who are the Christadelphians?
The Christadelphians are a people united by a common belief in the original Christian Gospel, not by organizational structure. We have come to know the love of God in Christ through this Gospel. We seek, in response, to live in obedience to our God, to emulate His love in our lives, and to look fervently for His Son's return to this earth and "the restoration of all things." The name "Christadelphian" means "Brethren in Christ". To emphasize that we are a community, rather than a place where people meet, we call our local organizations, "ecclesias."

    Where are Christadelphians found?
Christadelphians are located throughout the world. Like the early Christians, we meet in homes, rented rooms, and in some cases, our own halls.
    [Acts 1:13; 2:46; 18:7; 19:9; 28:30]

    How are Christadelphians organized?
We are a lay community patterned after first century Christianity. Members of each congregation are addressed as "Brother" or "Sister", and all have a joint responsibility for the welfare of the church. A strong common belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and the One Gospel he proclaimed binds our Brotherhood together.
