The song was, "We are not under law but under grace" and we handed out instruments to everyone that could play and drilled it until everyone knew it cold. When we were done, spontaneous applause broke out when we realized that we had learned something new together. At the evening meal, we marched through the dining room clapping and singing it. The third thing that brought us together were the two dances that we did during supper on Saturday. The first was to the Yiddish song Hava Nagila which was sung live. The second was to an Iraqi tune that was played from a tape. Everyone got up and danced through the aisles between the tables. In some cases there were three lines between two tables and out in the kitchen we had 4 lines between the wall and the dishwasher. Seeing all ages and personalities dancing the same simple steps and having no one sitting out was a great experience.

Emmy Arnold was the co-founder of the Bruderhof Communities. She and her husband, Eberhard, began their Christian community in 1920, in their native Germany, after reading Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and determining his words were meant for today as much as for two thousand years ago. Today, the Bruderhof (the name translates as "place of brothers") is a Christian community movement with over two thousand members on three continents. Members still adhere to the Arnold's original vision for a life of radical Christianity where nonviolence , service to others, prayer, and fellowship are a natural part of every day. You can find more stories of people who joined the Bruderhof here In this chapter from her memoir

North America has seen an explosion of new area codes over the last eight years, fueled by increased demand for numbers (modems, fax, wireless) and competition in local telephone service. To meet this growing demand for numbers, the North American Numbering Plan was amended in 1995 to permit area codes with middle digits other than or 1. As a result, millions of phone numbers have moved to new area codes in recent years. This site contains a collection of lists of telephone exchanges involved in area code splits. Each entry below links you to a detailed list of telephone exchange codes (NXX) which will be, or have already been, moved to a new area code (NPA). This is not intended to be a master list of all area codes, or even of all new area codes. I generally do not include overlays , where a new area code is introduced which covers the same area as an existing area code. In such cases, no telephone numbers change. I have listed a few of the more confusing multiple overlays and combination split/overlays, though they may not exactly fit the criteria of number changes.

Welcome to the website of Bellvale Bruderhof. Visit the official Bruderhof website to learn more about the Bruderhof , to read articles and books , and to sign up for daily inspirational quotes by email. Bellvale Bruderhof movement as a whole was growing and straining the capacity of existing settlements. We considered how to expand in a manageable way, the idea being to move into existing campuses and buildings and use them as they were, with a minimum of renovation and construction. So properties were looked at with a view to their suitability for communal living and their readiness and availability to be moved into and lived in at short notice. We also reminded ourselves that in a small community we get to know each other better, so there was no need for a new Bruderhof to accommodate up to 400 people, as some of our existing communities do. The campus of Pope Pius XII School in Chester, New York, was chosen as the site for the new Bruderhof. The school had been closed for a number of years, but was in a repairable state. Renovation began, and immediately families from other Bruderhof communities moved in. Bellvale was officially founded on November 3, 2001. Today, about 120 people live at Bellvale. The property, which includes a fairly large lake, lies in a lovely rural valley surrounded by wooded hills, perfect for hiking and our children's love of nature and play. Warwick and Chester are the nearest towns. Bellvale is the nearest Bruderhof to New York City, and is minutes from New Jersey.
