"No one shall be received into membership into a PCA church who is a member of a Masonic organisation. Present members of a church in the PCA who are members of a Masonic organisation will be given a period of one year to read the report of the Committee to Study Freemasonry, pray and consider their membership in the Order in light of the clear statement of incompatibility of Freemasonry with Biblical Christianity. After said year, they will be allowed to resign membership or become the subject of formal church discipline."

We're a group of people, young and old, male and female, who have a wide scope of interests and abilities and who have come from various social backgrounds. However, one thing we all have in common is also the most important to us - each of us have come to the point in our lives when we have discovered the reality of the love of God's Son, Jesus Christ. Our desire is to encourage one another to obey the teaching of Jesus in our everyday lives mainly through attendance at our Sunday Services and our midweek Home Church Groups.

The Baptist Faith Introduction An Introduction to the Baptist Faith The Baptist Family Individual Church Members Local Baptist Churches ... The Worldwide Family An Introduction to the Baptist Faith Baptists are radicals in the sense that they believe in returning to the roots of Christian faith ( note that the English word 'radical' comes from the Latin word 'radix' which means root). This means that they seek to root their life together in the Biblical pattern of being the church. Unlike the great state churches of Europe - Anglican, Lutheran and reformed - Baptists have always emphasised the need for personal faith. Instead of baptising babies, Baptists have reserved baptism for those who are able to make a personal confession of Jesus as Lord and Saviour. In the 16th Century when the modern Baptist movement was born, this emphasis on personal faith was perceived as a threat to the state church, to which all were expected to belong, with or without faith. In 17th Century England, Baptists refused to conform and be members of the Church of England, arguing that Christ, and not the King (or Queen), was head of the church. Baptists have been described as 'Dissenters' or 'nonconformists' - they stand in the 'Free Church' tradition. Persecuted for their beliefs throughout the 17th Century, Baptists at one stage developed into two 'streams' of theological thought: the 'General' Baptists believed that when Christ died on the cross, He died for everyone in 'general'; the 'Particular' Baptists, however, believed that Christ died for the 'elect' i.e. a 'particular' group of people. Later these two streams came together to form the present Baptist Union of Great Britain.

Causing havoc in the Scottish Borders
Yes, that's right folks, I'm off to do a mission trip in thw Scottish Borders from Saturday through to Sunday week. Therefore, I regret to inform you that there will be no postings on this site during the period I am away. At some point, you will be treated to a post about the mission trip. However, I am exceptionally busy over the summer, and thus, from now until October, Noel's Personal Space is switching to a Sunday service - that is, if I post, I post, if I don't, tough. I will simply do what I can, when I can. On another note, you can now Skype me! Use VoIP technology to talk to me for free. Simply install Skype, go to my website, and click on the 'Call me on Skype' link, and you should end up phoning me. How wonderful!
    Skype - 28th July 2005
    VoIP is a hit
Today, I finally got round to installing and using Skype. I've been meaning to for a long time, but I actually did it today. Now, some people don't like it because of proprietry formats, and it's not strictly open source, blah blah blah, anf there's Gizmo coming soon, blah de blah. But, quite frankly, it works, and that's what concerns me first. Anyway, don't want to tread on mrBen's territory, though he's been AWOL for ages anyway! It was very easy to install and sign up, so I logged in, and added two contacts who I know from back home. Neither were online, so I sat there slightly bored, so I ran the microphone check a couple of times to test where yto place the microphone on my headset. In the end, I put it up just above my nose, to eliminate breathing noises, and it was still nice and audible.

The Baptist church is a movement within the Protestant branch of Christianity that emphasizes a believer's baptism by full immersion, which is performed after a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. A congregational governance system gives autonomy to individual local churches which are sometimes associated in organizations such as the Southern Baptist Convention , which is the largest. In the late 1990s, there were about 43 million Baptists worldwide with about 33 million in the United States (Microsoft® Encarta® Online Encyclopedia 2004. Baptists . Retrieved Aug. 6, 2004.).
    1 Origins
There are several views about the origins of Baptists within the Baptist church.
    1.1 Landmarkism
Landmarkism is the belief that Baptist churches and traditions have been around since the time of John the Baptist and Christ . Proponents believe that Baptist traditions have been passed down through a succession of "anonymous" Baptist churches that were Baptist in tradition but not necessarily in name. This succession grants Baptist churches the status of being unstained and separate from what they see as the corruptions of Catholicism and other denomination s. It also allows for the view that Baptists predate the Catholic church and is therefore not part of the reformation or the protestant movement.
