Elk River Baptist is a friendly, family oriented church which believes in the authority of God's Word, the deity of Jesus Christ and the real presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe that salvation can only be realized through faith in the atoning work of the crucified and resurrected messiah, Jesus Christ. We practice believers' baptism by immersion in accordance with the example of our Lord and the practice of the New Testament Church. We observe the Lord's Supper as an act of remembering the Lord's death until he returns. We invite you to worship with us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Nursery is provided, and children aged 3 through 2nd grade may attend Noah's Park R Children's Church during the pastor's message.  (Children's Church is suspended during the summer months) May God grant you peace.

A Love Letter For You
Map to New Hope Welcome to New Hope Church, we meet Sundays at 10:00 am in the former Calvary Baptist Church building on the corner of North Prairie and West Walnut Streets. Come as you are.
The mission of New Hope Church is to evangelize and disciple people (i.e., to proclaim the Gospel and to help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ). This mission is in obedience to the "Great Commission" given by Jesus Christ to His disciples: "Go and make disciples of all nations-baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19); " and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8b). In remaining faithful to the mission statement of New Hope Church the following key areas of ministry have been developed. Worship Each Sunday a Praise and Worship service is offered at 10:00 A.M. This service is designed to communicate a common heart language that people identify and participate with.

Cooperating with Other Believers
Baptist General Conference
At Woodbridge Community Church, our first and foremost emphasis is on knowing Christ and living the Christian life. Jesus prayed that we would be one with all believers (John 17:21-23), and we participate in activities and fellowship with other Christians from many backgrounds. Woodbridge Community Church membership consists of individuals representing a wide range of church backgrounds. In this spirit of oneness, Woodbridge Community Church is voluntarily affiliated with the Baptist General Conference allowing us to accomplish objectives we could not achieve alone. The BGC churches are located throughout the United States with missionary work taking place throughout the world. We also participate with the regional association called the Southwest Baptist Conference. Baptist beliefs are summarized as follows:
B ible is the only rule of faith and practice. "All Scripture is inspired by God . . . " 2 Tim. 3:16 (NASB).
A uthority of Christ is first and foremost in the church.

Baptist General Conference Northern Minnesota farmer Andrew Peterson, in the picture outside his log house, kept a significant diary for 44 of his pioneer years. That diary became the principal source of research for author Vilhelm Moberg' s widely-read books, " The Emigrants ," " Unto a Good Land" and " The Last Letter Home" . Moberg used Peterson as his prototype for Karl Oskar , the books' main character. The movies, "The Immigrants" and "The Good Land," were derived from Moberg's books.
Andrew Peterson is important to Conference history. It is believed that his rude cabin was the scene of the organization of Scandia (Waconia, Minn.) Baptist Church in 1855. Minnesota's second Conference church, it is today the oldest with a continuous history. Peterson was a charter member and church leader.
Peterson's 12-volume diary was written in spidery hand in Ostergotland dialect. Every day (except Sundays) he made a note about his life - his farm, his wife and nine children, his cattle and crops, his church life. Probably the most complete existing coverage of a Swedish settler's life, the diary is a prominent item in the University of Minnesota archives. An English translation of the diary is now in the Bethel archives. What is a Conference Baptist?

Bethel Baptist Church Bethel Baptist Church , formerly known as St. Johns Woods Community Church. The church was located at 7807 N. Fessenden in the St. Johns area of Portland, Oregon. Bethel Baptist, or St. Johns Woods Community Church was organized on September 19, 1943. The church had a membership of 163 and an average Sunday School attendance of 169
Henry J. Kaiser was a household word in Portland and far beyond, during World War II. Even before the war, in 1939, he imported workers in wholesale lots, sending an order to a U S Employment Service in New York for "two train loads of men" to work in his shipyard. He broke all records for building Liberty ships in 1943. After that workers came by the thousands from everywhere.
Mrs. Walter Moore, chairman of Bethel's Historical Committee, tells of two ministers in St. Johns, Rev. Knotts of the Baptist Church and Rev. Thomas of the Methodist Church, together with a few residents that first met in the Community Hall of the Housing Project for Sunday School, September 19, 1943.
Then in 1944, the Columbia and General Baptist Conferences accepted the responsibility for the Sunday School and allied activities, sending Miss Henrietta Carlson, Junior Missionary, to take charge. By that time St, Johns Woods Housing Project was alive with people.
