Information on the Maybury TB Sanatorium that stood in Northville, Mi. Photos and history, and forum.
Welcome to Maybury!
I made this page in hopes to preserve the history of the Maybury Sanatorium, which over the years has fallen through the cracks.
Maybury has been a part of my family since the late 1940's My grandparents worked there and my father spent a great deal of his childhood walking on these grounds with them.
With the help of Friends of Maybury a project is on it's way for signage at Maybury State Park. Soon People will be able to walk the trails and learn of what once stood on these grounds. A warm thanks to the friends for pushing for people to remember a life that existed here not all that long ago.
This is my first attempt at building a web page. I hope the information I can share will be passed on to future Maybury enthusiasts. Enjoy the site!

    What is Tuberculosis?
Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease that can damage a person's lungs or other parts of the body and cause serious illness.
    How is TB spread?
TB is spread when people who have active untreated TB germs in their lungs or throat cough, sneeze or speak, and send their germs into the air. People who breathe these germs into their lungs can become infected. People who breathe in TB germs usually have had very close, day-to-day, contact with someone who has the disease. That's why most people get TB germs from someone they spend a lot of time with, like a family member, friend or close co-worker. You're not likely to get TB from someone coughing in the subway or at a restaurant. It is not spread by dishes, drinking glasses, sheets or clothing.
