Sturge, 18501919, English physician; Frederick Parkes Weber 18631962, English physician), a neurocutaneous syndrome also known as encephalotrigeminal angiomatosis. Clinical features are the presence of a port wine naevus involving the facial skin, primarily the forehead and cheek, seizures, hemiparesis, mental retardation, glaucoma and hemianopsia. These result from angiomatous vessels of the pia mater in the occipital and occipitoparietal regions. Although it is generally considered to be a non-inherited condition, a few familial cases are reported. Skull radiography may show evidence of serpiginous, unilateral cortical calcification in the occipital region ( Fig.1 ), thickening of the skull vault and enlargement of the paranasal sinuses. It may involve the whole hemisphere or even both hemispheres. Cross-sectional imaging with CT or MRI will demonstrate cortical atrophy on the affected side, particularly in areas with associated calcification ( Fig.2
