125. Un Boss Sotto Stress - CineFile.biz
Recensione del film con Robert De Niro e Billy Crystal, a cura di Fabrizio Formenti.

Fabrizio Formenti, 12 Marzo 2003: Superfluo

Mind is a formless state. It cannot be brought on record or measured by any of the modern instruments.Fundamentally mind is concerned with the thinking and it's applications. The inputs of the mind are partly dependent on the information / learning from the society itself, but a reasonable part comes from practically the blue as a godgift to certain chosen persons eg.the great masterpiece works of art, literature and scientific inventions. The mind is the motivation of a human being, his steam, his drive, his ambition and his ultimate destiny often.Wonderful faculty that the mind is, has been perplexing since ages as all the scientific advances have failed to analyse the parameters governing the mind.

Stress: How to Drive without Overheating the Engine pdf version
WHAT IS STRESS?
Looming deadlines, a relationship crisis, a dead battery and the fuse gets shorter and shorter. We think of stress as something which is coming from out there, and that the best response we can make is to grit our teeth and carry on. The word "stress,” however, actually refers to our response, in mind, body, and spirit, to what is buffeting usand there's a lot we can do about that! You might be able to chill when the dog eats your term paper. But then, when you go to reprint it, you find that the printer is out of ink. By the time you leave the house to replace the ribbon, your shoulders are tense. You slide into the car and turn the ignition. The engine won’t start! Now you’re feeling seriously stressed.

http://www.aacap.org/publications/factsfam/66.htm
H ELPING T EENAGERS WITH S TRESS No. 66 Updated (01/02) Teenagers, like adults, may experience stress everyday and can benefit from learning stress management skills. Most teens experience more stress when they perceive a situation as dangerous, difficult, or painful and they do not have the resources to cope. Some sources of stress for teens might include:
  • school demands and frustrations
  • negative thoughts and feelings about themselves
  • changes in their bodies
  • problems with friends and/or peers at school
  • unsafe living environment/neighborhood
  • separation or divorce of parents
  • chronic illness or severe problems in the family
  • death of a loved one
  • moving or changing schools
  • taking on too many activities or having too high expectations
  • family financial problems
Some teens become overloaded with stress. When it happens, inadequately managed stress can lead to anxiety, withdrawal, aggression, physical illness, or poor coping skills such as drug and/or alcohol use. When we perceive a situation as difficult or painful, changes occur in our minds and bodies to prepare us to respond to danger. This "fight, flight, or freeze" response includes faster heart and breathing rate, increased blood to muscles of arms and legs, cold or clammy hands and feet, upset stomach and/or a sense of dread. The same mechanism that turns on the stress response can turn it off. As soon as we decide that a situation is no longer dangerous, changes can occur in our minds and bodies to help us relax and calm down. This "relaxation response" includes decreased heart and breathing rate and a sense of well being. Teens that develop a "relaxation response" and other stress management skills feel less helpless and have more choices when responding to stress.

Are you or your employees tired before the day begins? Do you suffer chronic aches and pains (real or imaginary)? Find you're not giving clients your absolute best? If so, you may be losing the battle against stress. According to Human Resource News (Nov. 1998), "stress has increased dramatically as a reason why today's employees are missing work, almost tripling since 1995." The 1997 National Study of the Changing Work force states that 36% of employees often feel drained or "used up" at the end of a workday. Even more eye opening, employees report feeling tired before the workday begins! What are the long term implications of stress? Anyone experiencing on going stress provides a fertile breeding ground for illness. These illnesses range from the common cold to more severe problems, such as heart attacks and strokes. What Can Individuals Do?

EFT provides both rapid relief and long term benefits for Stress, Panic Attacks and Anxiety Attacks. It works equally well for these problems and often works where nothing else will. Once you have learned the EFT process , you can apply it at the onset of an attack and, in most cases, it will rapidly "bring you down" within minutes. This is an astonishing experience for long term sufferers. For some people, a few rounds of EFT not only rapidly dissipates a current attack but, in addition, it noticeably reduces ... or eliminates ... future occurrences. For others, however, such long term results may require more sophisticated uses of EFT. There may, for example, be deeper emotional causes such as anger, fear, guilt or trauma that require more sophisticated uses of EFT.

Stress (roughly the opposite of relaxation ) is a medical term for a wide range of strong external stimuli, both physiological and psychological, which can cause a physiological response called the general adaptation syndrome , first described in by Hans Selye in the journal Nature

Selye's work
Selye was able to separate the physical effects of stress from other physical symptoms suffered by patients through his research. He observed that patients suffered physical effects not caused directly by their disease or by their medical condition. Selye described the general adaptation syndrome as having three stages:
  • alarm reaction , where the body detects the external stimulus adaptation , where the body engages defensive countermeasures against the stressor exhaustion , where the body begins to run out of defenses
