Honeysuckle Sore Throat Syrup Recipe #117217
This was gotten off a botanical website and submitted by a girl named Deborah. She says this cured her little girl's strep throat when no antibiotics would. I love honeysuckle and it grows profusely here along roadside fences. You can mix flowers and leaves in proportion you like.

How to Relieve a Sore Throat
Sore throats can be caused by bacteria or viruses. Most require no medical intervention, and will go away within two to three days. Here are a few tips to make a sore throat go away even quicker. Steps: Consider the cause: a bug that's going around the office, enthusiastic cheering, or perhaps something more serious, such as strep throat. There are instant strep throat test strips that can tell you in less than 30 minutes if you have strep throat. Be aware, though, that these strips sometimes deliver false negatives. Take an analgesic to reduce inflammation'aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen for an adult, or acetaminophen or ibuprofen for children'as recommended by your doctor. Suck on throat lozenges if you are an adult'especially those containing menthol, benzocaine or phenol, which numb the throat. Zinc lozenges may also be helpful. Children should suck on cough drops or hard candy. Gargle with mint mouthwash or salt water.

In preschool children, a sore throat is frequently caused by a virus. The respiratory viruses that cause colds and flu prevail during the winter and spring months, while the Coxsackie virus is more common in the summer and fall months. Infectious mononucleosis, a viral disease that is common in older children and adolescents, can also lead to a sore throat and tonsillitis. In rare cases, a sore throat may be a symptom of
