Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition that is believed to be the result of dysfunction in the central or peripheral nervous systems. Typical features include dramatic changes in the color and temperature of the skin over the affected limb or body part, accompanied by intense burning pain, skin sensitivity, sweating, and swelling. CRPS I is frequently triggered by tissue injury; the term describes all patients with the above symptoms but with no underlying nerve injury. Patients with

Hello! Welcome to JoeyLee.com! My name IS Joey Lee*. I'm 39 years old, I am gay and also physically disabled.
In February of 1992, I injured my right knee while working as a counselor for sexually and/or physically abused children/teens.
Well, to make a very long story short, that injury lead to the diagnosis of both R eflex S ympathetic D ystrophy (RSD/CRPS), and A vascular N ecrosis (AVN).
Both RSD and AVN are considered ''Chronic Pain Syndromes'', with RSD being the worst, yet one of the most untreated diseases known to the Medical Field.
Being physically disabled as well as being gay, I decided that rather than wasting away my life on the sofa, I'd do my very best to help others that may be dealing with being disabled and/or being gay.
Despite everything, I consider myself extremely blessed, as I share my life with David*, my ''Life-Partner''. We have been together for wonderful, yet pretty tough , years, as of August 7th, 2005!
