    Palavras-chave Summary
    : A report of a case of cat-scratch sickness or benign inoculation lympho-reticulosis, usually a benign lymphadenopathy involving lymph nodes that drain the primary dermal or conjunctival sites of inoculation. It is a benign and self-limited disorder but may, however, progress to a severe, systemic or recurrent infection, producing encephalitis, neuroretinitis and osteomyelitis. The etiologic agent is a small pleomorphic gram-negative bacillus, Rochalimaea henselae, a member of the a-2 subgroup of the a-proteobacteria.
