Country of Remedy: USA
Ingredients: Frozen cabbage leaf
Instructions: When you buy a cabbage do not throw the outer leaves away, instead put them in a zip lock bag
and store them in the freezer. Once the pain of the gout starts, apply a frozen cabbage leaf to the area and cover with a dry towel. Leave in place until the leaf thaws out and repeat. There is an enzymes in the cabbage that draws out the chrystals around the affected area. Hello,
For the gout, try placing a frozen cabbage leaf on the swollen area. The cabbage contains an emzyme that draws out the chrystal that form around the affected joint. It has to be frozen to work, cover with a towel. Repeat often.

Introduction: Gout
Gout: Painful joints, most commonly the big toe. Gout: Gout is one of the most painful rheumatic diseases. It results from deposits of needle-like crystals of uric acid in the connective tissue, joint spaces, or both. These deposits lead to inflammatory arthritis, which causes swelling, redness, heat, pain, and stiffness in the joints. Arthritis is a term that is often used to refer to the more than 100 different rheumatic diseases that affect the joints, muscles, and bones, and may also affect other connective tissues. Gout accounts for about 5 percent of all cases of arthritis. Pseudogout, also a crystal-induced arthritis, is a condition with similar symptoms that results from deposits of calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate crystals in the joints. It is sometimes called calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease, crystal deposition disease, or chondrocalcinosis. Researching symptoms of Gout: Further information about the symptoms of Gout is available including a

It occurs when uric acid, usually carried in small amounts in the bloodstream, reaches such a high level that it crystallizes in the joints. There are several reasons for elevated uric acid levels, including:
  • a hereditary enzyme deficiency a blood cancer kidney disease disruption of the body’s ability to eliminate it (by certain prescription drugs, for example)
A gout attack can happen very suddenly, producing severe joint pain and swelling and a purplish discoloration of the skin over the affected area. The person often feels ill and feverish. In someone who is prone to gout, causes of an attack include:

What Is Gout?
Patients with Gout typically suffer sudden, severe attacks of pain and tenderness, redness, warmth, and swelling in some joints. Gout strikes when uric acid builds up in the body to such an extent that the kidneys are unable to flush it out. (Uric acid is a substance that normally forms when the body breaks down waste products called purines.) The uric acid crystallises, then collects around the joints causing inflammation. In about 7 out of 10 cases the first area hit is the big toe, to which crystals are drawn by gravity. In addition, Gout can be inherited or happen as a complication of another condition. Insulin resistance may also play a role in the development of gout. The condition can affect anyone of any age, but typically it affects men over the age of 40 and women after menopause.
Low-Purine Anti-Gout Diet
A low-purine diet is often prescribed for individuals with gout. Purine is a compound that is mainly found in animal protein which is metabolized to uric acid in the body. A low-purine diet and medications (eg. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroids, and allopurinol) are commonly used to treat gout. Best case: the less purine in your diet, the fewer gout attacks you are likely to suffer. Worst case: the less purine in your diet, the fewer anti-gout drugs you'll need.
