Anorexia Nervosa in Hematologic Disorders Introduction In addition, pathophysiologic and clinical aspects of medical, endocrine and nutritional abnormalities in anorexia nervosa have been reported (133).
Gastrointestinal Disorder Crisp (134) has reviewed gastrointestinal disturbance in anorexia nervosa, noting that anorectics frequently complain of abdominal pain and distention. Chronic anorexia nervosa can distort the gastrointestinal tract, producing distention, then disuse atrophy followed by distention. In some cases, cystic ovarian disease is the cause of the abdominal discomfort. In one patient, pseudoacute abdomen was manifested by anorexia, with a 50 pound weight loss, intermittent abdominal pain, and vomiting. A duodenal jejunostomy was unsuccessful in diminishing weight loss and vomiting (140). Anorexia nervosa should be considered in a patient with weight loss, abdominal pain, and vomiting.

Gastrointestinal (GI) Disorders!
Symptoms
Gas, bloating, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramping: these are not things that one would normally think of when building muscle. For millions of people who suffer from food allergies or gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, you may experience these symptoms on a daily basis. These symptoms not only make life very unpleasant, but their causes may mean that the nutrients you intake may not be absorbed properly and if you aren't absorbing nutrients properly, then you are getting the maximum muscular development "bang" for your nutrient "buck." This article will discuss several common GI disorders and food allergies and will also detail eating strategies to maximize nutrient absorption.

Coping with a common gastrointestinal disorder
B. K. Sharma T HIS is gastrointestinal disorder characterised by change in bowel habits or abdominal pain and flatulence without any defined structural changes in the gut. The doctors call it irritable bowel syndrome (usually written as IBS) and has been referred to by various names like spastic colitis, irritable colon and mucus colitis. Recently, one of my patients suffering from this disease referred to it as "intestinal nervousness". That sums it all. The disorder is very common, distressingly persistent and frustrating, both for the patient and the doctor. However, it is benign and associated with a normal life span. Notwithstanding its benign nature, it causes a lot of distress and implies poor quality life and absenteeism from work with enormous economic implications. No recognised pathology
