I developed fibromyalgia in 1982 due to severe emotional stress and job stress while working as a legal secretary. I suffered with debilitating muscle pain and stiffness, fatigue, insomnia and depression. I consulted doctors in many cities. They all prescribed drugs, but nothing really helped and I felt like a zombie! I tried chiropractic, physical therapy and massage therapy and took vitamins by the handfuls. It was all very frustrating, not to mention expensive. I also had serious hormonal, neurological and allergy problems. I later developed CFIDS after an encounter with an especially nasty virus.
