Building Fund Over the Top! The project to renovate the old Post Office building and turn it into a new City Hall and Library has been going for over five years, and it looks like it might finally be coming to a successful end. The goal of the Burns Library Building Fund was to raise $80,000 by July 31st. As of July 27th the fund is up to $89,000 and is still climbing! The money is still coming in from the many supporters of this project, and will hopefully continue to come in. Any extra monies will go to furnishing the interior of the library and help with renovations to the apartment upstairs. The fund raisers have also sent out over 800 letters to the community, former community members, people interested in Burns, and businesses in the area. This also has been a huge success. The fund has had many donations from these letters, and many came with personal recollections of the building and what it has housed in the past and personal recollections of Burns itself. At this time there are over 100 donors to be a part of the donor wall in the library, and that number is still rising!
