O mentum has vast network of blood vessels and lymphatics. It is known for its angiogenic properties. We used omentum for revascularization of the ischeamic limbs and eye (retina) and developed a technique (Agarwal technique) to lengthen and brought it up to the toes in legs* and to retina in Eyes.** Omental homografts were also used as freegrafts with success in ischeamic legs . We feel that this type of transplantation is effective because of its angiogenic properties and neovascularisation of ischeamic tissues. Vineburg experiments have shown that omental grafts would develop communication with the local circulation which is ischeamic in 4-8 days after omentopexy , by biological capillary and arteriolar anastomosis wherever the vessels are patent. Such a great book...I stayed up until three AM to finish it. Hugo Whittier is a man bent on smoking himself to death, full of wicked schemes and machinations that are foiled by his unspoken loves and the love of others. But dont get me wrong...hes got plenty to say. As Lily Tomlin said, "I try to be cynical, but its hard to keep up." Along the way we hear delicious ruminations on Montaign, MFK Fisher, Erasmus, among others...the authors voice so piquant and intelligent, a death so worthwhile watching. Soap Lake History Chapters Chapter 7
This little lake that the town fought so hard to save is perhaps unique in all the world. Very few medicinal waters exist that contain such a variety of minerals. Soap Lake is what is known as a soft mineral lake because its most abundant mineral is what housewives know as washing soda, rather than the calcium salts which are the main mineral in hard mineral water. Another unique quality of the lake is that it is meromictic. The water is stratified into layers that do not mix with each other. The layer of water near the bottom of the lake is supersaturated with the healing minerals. From the many testimonials of those it has helped, there is no doubt that the water of Soap Lake has curative powers. It is the only known successful treatment for the rare Buergers Disease (Thromboangitis Obliterans). Men using the water have been able to arrest or slow the ravages of the disease. Skin, circulatory, digestive, and joint problems seem to be the disorders most commonly benefited by drinking and bathing in the water. As it was from the dawn of civilization on Soap Lake's shores, the use of the healing water is still a do-it-yourself project for the most part. Due to the efforts of a man suffering from Buergers Disease, a hospital was built here and named for him.

Blood is the body's main internal transport system and proper circulation is vital for good health. As part of our regular newsletter there will be information on methods and products designed to help improve circulation.
      The importance of proper circulation
      Hypertension
Circulatory disorders are quite common in middle-aged and elderly folk. Hypertension is one of them. It is caused by cholesterol plaque deposits along the walls of the arteries, making them harden and constrict. Because the arteries are constricted, the blood exerts great force against the walls of the blood vessels, causing the blood pressure to rise.
      Hardening of the Arteries
Hardening of the arteries is another consequence because the arteries narrow due to these same fatty deposits. Buergers disease, common to those who smoke, is a chronic inflammation of the veins and arteries in the lower extremities. Raynauds disease is marked by constriction and spasm of the blood vessels in the extremities. The fingers toes and tip of the nose. This disease if left untreated can lead to gangrene.
