Celebrating Women Writers! Monday, November 22nd, 1999 Seven Little Sisters; Jane Taylor; American Indian Stories Hello to all you volunteers! It has been a while since we started the BUILD-A-BOOK season, and I've got quite a lot of news to send along to you all! COMPLETED: First, I am delighted to announce three books which have been completed and are now available on-line at the Celebration. They are: Andrews, Jane (1833-1887) "The Seven Little Sisters Who Live on the Round Ball that Floats in the Air." (1888 edition, c1861) http://digital.library.upenn.edu/wo men/andrews/sisters/sisters.html Congratulations go out to volunteer Nicole Capehart, who this book and sent it in. It's quite a delightful children's book; with the dual purposes of making geography class lots of fun, and teaching children to regard children of other cultures as their sisters (and brothers.) Taylor, Jane (1783-1824) "Memoirs, Correspondence, and Poetical Remains of Jane Taylor" (1783-1824), Edited by Isaac Taylor, Jr., of Stanford Rivers. From "The Writings of Jane Taylor, In Five Volumes (Volume I, Memoirs and Poetical Remains.)" (1832) http://digital.library.upenn.edu/wo | |
