Search this site Youth Programs America's young people are its most precious natural resource. This is why, for many years, Exchange has sponsored an impressive selection of activities designed to benefit and encourage our nation's youth. Not surprising, many of these richly rewarding programs are among the most popular and well supported of all Exchange Club endeavors.
Exchange's youth projects include the Youth of the Month/Year Award, the Young Citizenship Award, the A.C.E. Award and EXCEL Clubs . For more information on how to implement these projects, see the Youth Projects Guide. For more information on purchasing youth project supplies, see the Exchange Marketplace.
Youth of the Month/Year Award
One of the most popular of Exchange's youth projects, the Youth of the Month/Year Award recognizes industrious high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement community involvement and leadership. This proven program not only rewards outstanding young people, but also provides an incentive for other youngsters to strive for equally high levels of achievement.
Cooperation from school authorities and youth leaders is easily attainable. As a result of the favorable publicity which the program often generates, the sponsoring Exchange Club enhances its own community image.

The first Club in Tasmania was formed in 1946 at Launceston. There are now 13 Clubs Statewide. Police and Community Youth Clubs (PCYC) are the largest youth organisation in Australia. The Clubs have historically provided a wide range of sporting and recreational activities for youth including gymnastics, trampolining, boxing, self defence classes and most indoor games. In recent years the PCYC movement in Tasmania has broadened its role to provide outreach programs to youth from outlying areas. These programs include the RecLink project which provides sporting and recreational activities for unemployed and disadvantaged youth. The Teen Vacation program is another activity which provides for "at risk" youth during holiday periods. The Mobile Activity Centre is an equipped trailer which provides numerous activities as well as health and welfare information to identified areas of need. The activities provided include basketball, volleyball, cricket, baseball, Sony playstation and most indoor and outdoor games. There now three Mobile Activity Centre units operating throughout the State and hopefully another unit will begin operations shortly from Launceston. The purpose of the MAC project is to provide recreational activities for young people, provide opportunities to participate in healthy recreation for all ages, to provide a positive liaison between Police and young people and to encourage the principles of good citizenship.

contents introduction informal jewish education youth movements vs. youth clubs youth movements and clubs in britain ... how to cite this article In his article “ The Philosophy of Jewish informal education
Informal Jewish education
In the same article, Chazan suggests that Jewish and general informal education share six of the eight defining characteristics that he delineates in defining informal Jewish education. These shared characteristics are: both are person-centered, experience-oriented, and interactive, and both promote a learning and experiencing community, a culture of education, and content that engages. However, he also suggests that informal Jewish education can be considered a unique category of its own, differing from general informal education in two major respects: its curriculum of experiences and values and its holistic educator. Chazan suggests that informal Jewish education is inherently about affecting the lifestyle and identity of Jews. General informal education is often about learning a skill or improving one’s skills, especially life skills, but rarely about ultimate identity or character education. Because of this, these two models of informal education also have divergent conceptions of the role of the educator. Informal Jewish educators are inherently shapers of Jewish experience and role models of Jewish lifestyle, as opposed to the good general informal educator who is focused on helping to develop skills and not on shaping identity or group loyalties.

The Victor C. Clark Youth Incentive Program
The ARRL Foundation, Inc. At the request of the family of the late Victor C. Clark, W4KFC, the ARRL Foundation established the Victor C. Clark Youth Incentive Program, with the objective of providing support for the development of Amateur Radio among high-school age (or younger) youth. Funded by endowment and contributor support, the Program makes minigrants available to groups that demonstrate serious intent to promote participation in Amateur Radio by youth and enrich the experience of radio amateurs under the age of 18. Groups that qualify for mini-grants will include, but not be limited to, high school radio clubs, youth groups, and general-interest radio clubs that sponsor subgroups of young people or otherwise make a special effort to get them involved in club activities. Minigrants, not to exceed $1000 per grant, will be made for such projects as securing equipment for antennas for club stations, purchasing training materials, supporting local service projects that bring favorable public exposure, and similar activities. Preference will be given to projects for which matching funds are raised locally. An applicant for a mini-grant must write a brief, but complete proposal including such items as:
