The blast caused minor damage at the complex which includes the provincial governor's headquarters and all major government offices. Only security guards were at the site at the time. The area is an al Qaeda stronghold in Yemen, the ancestral home of Osama bin Laden. Earlier this month, the CIA used an unmanned Predator aircraft to fire a missile at a car carrying six suspected members of al Qaeda outside Marib in northwestern Yemen.
