Location and History
Casper College is located in Casper, Wyoming near the geographic center of the Cowboy State.
The college became Wyoming’s first junior college in 1945 and was initially located on the third floor of Natrona County High School. The first fall enrollment was 73. As enrollment continued to climb, the college hired more faculty and expanded its curricular offerings and its facilities to meet the demands of steady growth.
The first step in the development of the Casper College campus was the construction of the Liesinger Administration Building and a vocational unit on a 30-acre tract in 1955. In 1960 a second major building, Saunders Science, was constructed west of the administration building to house arts and sciences classes. Through the cooperation of the City of Casper and the State of Wyoming, additional acreage was acquired, increasing the campus to its current size of 125 acres. Residence halls were built beginning in 1963: Bailey Hall, Morad Hall and McIntire Hall. The College Center, which provides facilities for student activities and services, was built at the same time.

Vol 2, Issue 1, Topic: Elementary and Secondary Education State Profiles of Public Elementary and Secondary Education: 1996-97 By: Victor Bandeira de Mello and Beth Aronstamm Young This article was excerpted from the Introduction and Wyoming State Profile in the Statistical Analysis Report of the same name. The universe data are primarily from the NCES Common Core of Data ( CCD ). Additional sources of universe and sample survey data are listed at the end of this article.
Introduction Examinations of the status and quality of education in the United States are often based on comparisons among states. Comparisons of this type are most useful, valid, and constructive when states are examined alongside other states with similar characteristics. It is also helpful to have a variety of factors that are important to public education conveniently arrayed for individual states. State Profiles of Public Elementary and Secondary Education is the third in a series of publications reporting summary data on the general characteristics, fiscal revenues and expenditures, education agency and school numbers and sizes, and students and staff for each state, the District of Columbia, Department of Defense Dependents Schools (Overseas), and the five outlying areas-American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

http://www2.umt.edu/ucoll/GER.htm
General Education Requirements (GER) Why do I have to take all these general education courses that have nothing to do with my major?
All students enrolled in baccalaureate study must complete general education requirements in addition to all other major or University requirements. The University of Montana maintains a commitment to providing students with college-level competence in academic skills as well as a broad view of the liberal arts. Now, more than ever before, a strong general education curriculum provides a platform for academic exploration, solid preparation for competition within varying disciplines, and a fine support for future educational and career challenges. What if a course I need for my major is also a general education course? Will that one course count for both my major and a general education requirement?
Yes. Many UM courses satisfy a general education requirement as well as a requirement of a particular major.
