Who in the World is Melissa Mullek? Melissa is a product of her environment, small southern town, devout Catholic parents, the same classmates from first grade to graduation. But Melissa is far from small town southern belle. She looks at the world through cynical eyes and sees beauty in the oddest places. Twenty-nine years old, mother of a smart alec eight-year old, still a child herself in many ways. What an opportunity. Take a look at her world. Swim in the local springs, stalk imaginary Indians on game paths through cool stands of sweet gum and poplar. Survive the state psychiatric hospital, restraints, fellow patients. Melissa is only twenty-nine, but it is a full twenty-nine years with more experiences than most people will every explore. The memoirs are real, as far as her perceptions go. Living and Dying is completely fiction and a work in progress. The other things are simply things as she sees them, saw them. I cannot tell you who Melissa Mullek is. I can only let you in on the products of Melissa Mullek. Decide for yourself. Honestly. She won't mind.

Business Writing
The main requirement of workplace writing is clarity. Employers want their employees' written communications to be direct, grammatically correct, and easy to read. Careless errors may lead the reader to believe there are also errors in the facts, and the writer loses credibility and trustworthiness. WorkKeys Business Writing requires standard business English, defined as writing that is direct, courteous, grammatically correct, and not overly casual. The WorkKeys Business Writing test measures the skill individuals use when they write an original response to a work-related situation. Components of the Business Writing skill include sentence structure, mechanics, grammar, word usage, tone and word choice, organization and focus, and development of ideas. Related Information

Introduction
These notes are a miscellany of grammatical rules and explanations, comments on style , and suggestions on usage I put together for my classes. Nothing here is carved in stone, and many comments are matters of personal preference . Anyone who can resist turning my own preferences into dogma is welcome to use this HTML edition. Feedback is always welcome. I should be clear up front: I'm not a linguist, nor a scholar of the history of the language. (If you're curious about who I am, you can look at my CV and decide whether I'm worth listening to.) Linguists are wary of " prescriptive
Why, then, have I spent so much time on a prescriptive and fairly traditional usage guide? Because these notes may be useful in making your writing clearer and more effective . I'm not out to make definitive statements about what's right and what's wrong , and Lord knows I wouldn't be qualified even if I tried. I can, however, make suggestions on things that are likely to

GENERAL EVALUATION RUBRIC
FOR COLLEGE PAPERS
A MS Word Version of this text [printable on one page] is available Students sometimes do not understand how a paper is graded. The explanation of grading here derives from standards for Advanced Placement exams, and is called a "grading rubric". Note that this is the standard expected of good pre-college students. It outlines basic elements of a good paper, and attaches grades to them. The basic grade of a paper derives from its content. The difference between the higher and lower grades here may depend on issues such as presentation. The Superior Paper (A/A-) Thesis: Easily identifiable, plausible, novel, sophisticated, insightful, crystal clear. Structure: Evident, understandable, appropriate for thesis. Excellent transitions from point to point. Paragraphs support solid topic sentences. Use of evidence: Primary source information used to buttress every point with at least one example. Examples support mini-thesis and fit within paragraph. Excellent integration of quoted material into sentences. Analysis: Author clearly relates evidence to "mini-thesis" (topic sentence); analysis is fresh and exciting, posing new ways to think of the material.

The village of the Cedars , over 2000 m in altitude, is a very picturesque ski resort with hotets, chalets, and ski lifts. An introduction to the life and writings of Willa Cather
I am very happy to display this award, so feel free to click on the link! Willa Cather is one of the most interesting women writers in American literary history. Both a teacher, a journalist and a critic as well as a writer, Cather plays an important part in the shaping of American modernist thought and writings. Her fiction is unique in its powerful representation of setting and character and rich in its language and imagery. Her style of writing is condensed and subtle, but nonetheless tremendously expressive - precisely as the quote at the top of this This website is an attempt to give a comprehensive introduction to Cather's life and work. Aside from an introduction to the body of work, it includes a short biography, an extensive bibliography, an overview of the general themes, concerns and ideas in Cather's work, as well as a number of links to other useful Cather-sites on the Internet. Writings from a young homosexual guy in south australia, about gay life in general.
http://www.geocities.com/cry_freedom2003
CRY FREEDOM Hi, welcome to my site. I chose the name 'Cry Freedom' because as a gay guy, that's something I hope to be able to do someday.
To tell you something about myself, I'm 18, I live in Adelaide, South Australia, I'm Christian and I'm Gay. When I was younger, I got very depressed and worried because I not only had the secular world saying negative things about homosexuality, I also had the Christian world's theology in regard to homosexuality, which seems somewhat sus to me now, but was terrifying at the time. It was basically a very painful time, but I was lucky enough to realise that it's ok to be gay, lesbian, straight or whatever fairly young.
Ever since, I've ached for those who still torment themselves with their sexuality. To that end, I've compiled a whole heap of information about the issue. If you're struggling about whether homosexuality is right or wrong, wondering about coming out, or anything else along those lines, I encourage you to take a look around the site, there's a lot of good stuff here. I'll also be doing an online journal and whatever else comes to mind in the future, maybe even a webcomic, so please book mark me and come back every 2-3 minutes!
I had to axe the guestbook because none of the entries were going through, but drop me an email at

CLAREMORE, Okla. State auditors say some six-thousand weapons are missing from the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum in Claremore and some have been found at crime scenes.
State Auditor Jeff McMahan says when the state-owned museum was founded in the 1960s its inventory listed more than 20,000 firearms and related items. He says there are now only about 14,000.

Government a Complete Success!!!
Finally, I have something good to say about government. In the aftermath of Katrina, government was wildly successful in pursuit of its core mission. From Mises.org
For those who maintain that the government "failed" its "mission," I must say that they are wrong. True, the government with its ham-fisted policies of blocking relief missions, imposing price controls, and acting in a dictatorial, but incompetent style, seems to have "failed" in making things better, especially in the days directly after the storm passed. But, if you understand that government is a mechanism by which some people impose their will by force over others, then you would have to admit that the government succeeded and succeeded beyond its own expectations.
