The Ghostbusters had the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man to contend with and now the featherweight division has Robert Guerrero. And you can bet it will take more than a couple of former Saturday Night Live alumni with supercharged vacuum cleaners to get rid of this ghost.
What do you know about Julian Rodriguez?
How was it working with Diego?
It was great. It was a really great experience.
How is the elbow doing?
Can you tell us exactly what happened with your elbow when you injured it?
You started fighting at a considerably young age. What got you into the sport of boxing?
My family has always been a boxing family. My Grandfather was a fighter. My Father was a fighter. My Uncles were fighters and my brothers were fighters. I was raised in the sport. I grew up in the gym with my dad and my brothers. Boxing is like second nature to me. How important do you think it is for fighter to have a strong amateur background?

jimmy.franco@twbg.com Advance praise for DOUBLE HOMICIDE: "The prolific Kellermans jointly pen a pair of crisp, smart novellas."
-Kirkus Reviews (starred review) With twenty-four bestsellers and more than 40 million copies in print between them, Jonathan and Faye Kellerman are the indisputable royal couple of crime fiction. Now for the first time, the bestselling authors team up to deliver the first book in a new series of short crime fiction. DOUBLE HOMICIDE (Warner Books Hardcover/ October 5, 2004/ $23.95) is a feast for mystery lovers, featuring two engrossing tales of detective sleuthing jointly written by the authors. Published as a reversible volume featuring two different covers and alternating top billing for each, DOUBLE HOMICIDE seamlessly combines the Kellermans' individual strengths as crime writers, while creating two distinct and equally compelling detective stories. Set against the arid backdrop of Santa Fe's bustling arts community, "Still Life" skillfully captures the tensions and intrigue of a small-town murder. Detectives Darrel Two Moons, an ex-army brat and former Marine, and Steve Katz, a hard-boiled New Yorker with a troubled ex-wife, are called to investigate the murder of a rich art gallery owner, Larry Olafson. No stranger to enemies, Olafson was engaged in a protracted court battle with a local elderly couple, but could they have pulled off the hit? As they work their way through the evidence, the detectives are plagued by a host of questions: why is Katz's ex-wife's name in the deceased's PalmPilot? And should Two Moons mention his own contretemps with the victim several months back? As the biting winds blow though Santa Fe, Two Moons and Katz enter a dangerous world where art and murder collide.

Mary Kay Ash: 1915-2001
Entrepreneur and Philanthropist
Mary Kay Ash was born in Hot Wells, TX. She was a talented salesperson from an early age. She sold a child psychology book door-to-door in the late 1930s and then was a sales representative and manager at the Stanley Home Products Company for many years. After retiring in 1963, she decided to write a book to help women thrive in the male-dominated world of business. But as she made two lists, one that contained the good things she had seen in companies she'd worked for, one with things she thought could be improved, she realized that she had just created a marketing plan for a successful company of her own. Ash was also a noted philanthropist. After her husband, Mel, died of cancer, she became committed to fighting the disease and finding a cure. She raised a great deal of money for research, then established the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, a non-profit public foundation that provides funding for research of leading cancers affecting women, in 1996. She was instrumental in passing legislation in Texas for insurance coverage of mammograms. She was also active in raising funds for cancer research through the Komen Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the Mary Kay Ash Center for Cancer Immunotherapy Research at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas. In 2001, the company and foundation expanded its philanthropic efforts to address the growing epidemic of violence against women by underwriting a documentary on domestic violence that aired nationwide on PBS.

"Sent from down below, Mother-In-Law"
Written by Dylan Callaghan

Anya Kochoff If it weren't for her bad hamstrings, Anya Kochoff might never have become a screenwriter. The new comedy Monster-in-Law has her enjoying the thrill of seeing her first script to hit the big screen, but in the early nineties she was actually dedicated to a professional tennis career. She apparently wasn't bad either, earning a 290 world-wide ranking after turning pro out of U.S.C. When two separate hamstring injuries put the kibosh on her athletic dreams, she had to reassess. The Breakers and both installments of Dr. Dolittle . It proved an invaluable training in the craft of screenwriting and, after helping to hone so many stories and scripts, she eventually decided to write her own. Since 2000, she has been writing and has already sold three feature scripts, four pitches, and two television shows. Kochoff spoke with the WGAw web site about what informed her script for Monster-in-Law , the dearth of women screenwriters in Hollywood, and why she's got cabin fever. Tell me a bit about the origins of Monster-in-Law I'm always looking for really good background ideas for romantic comedies. Over the last four or five years I've been hearing stories; most of my friends are married and on their second kids now, and I can't even tell you how much they complain about their mother-in-laws. Unbelievable. Actually the complaints about the mothers-in-law are worse than their complaints about their husbands.

He's scaled every mountain there was to climb in boxing. He's fought his way to world championships at lightweight and at welterweight, became known as the best pound-for-pound fighter in boxing and has become a household name to boxing enthusiasts.
It would be easy for "Sugar" Shane Mosley to be a content man. But Mosley will not be content until he climbs that final hurdle. A man who had previously known only victory in a star-studded career, he lost his World Boxing Council welterweight championship to Vernon Forrest on January 26, 2002, in New York and could not regain the belt in a rematch on July 20, 2002 in Indianapolis.
And Mosley, who had won his first 38 professional bouts after concluding one of the most heralded amateur careers ever, means to make that right.
Mosley has consistently overcome the odds since turning pro. He and his father, Jack, have formed one of the most successful tandems in the business. Jack Mosley trained his son since his amateur days and led him to dizzying heights in the pros. Shane was the 1998 Fighter of the Year as chosen by the Boxing Writers Association of America. Jack Mosley was the Trainer of the Year in 1998, the first time the organization has honored father and son in the same year.

    Cal Fans Rush to Alehouse
Coach Jeff Tedford By Rob Edwards Staff Writer
    Date: Aug 7, 2005
For the second consecutive year Cal Head Coach Jeff Tedford made appearances at three Pyramid Alehouses in Northern California to provide Golden Bear followers with a preview of the upcoming football season.
Featuring a pair of sold-out events in Walnut Creek and Sacramento and a third in Berkeley that attracted a huge throng, the tour was rated an unqualified success by attendees. Fans had an opportunity to question Tedford about the outlook for the 2005 season, to purchase a variety of items, and to obtain autographs from the two-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year. MEMORIAL STADIUM With regard to Memorial Stadium renovations, Tedford was succinct: "It's going to happen". This last summer, he said, a significant amount of behind the scenes work has taken place, including a whirlwind trip by Tedford, AD Sandy Barbour, several administrators and major donors to Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina to look at what other schools are doing and how those ideas can be applied at Cal. Tedford reported that ground will be broken following the 2006 season and that the home field for games in 2007 has not yet been decided. Tedford told attendees that he believes the student section location directly behind the Cal team bench is "a tradition not to be lost".

Home About Charles Stuart So You Want to Turn Pro
By: The Bass Doctor (Charles Stuart) Many people would like to compete on the tournament trails, and would do very well, even win large sums of money. What about you? The first thing you have to ask yourself is, "do I have what it takes"? I will try to outline below some of the roadblocks and requirements to answer your questions. Well to start with, you need angling know-how. A good understanding of the lifestyle and habitat of the fish you want to catch, including feeding and mating habits. Then, you have to think like a fish! These are just a few of the prerequisites you will need before "stepping up to the plate". I began fishing in London, England at the age of six on the banks of the river Thames. Ten years later, I was competing in local tournaments or matches against some of the best in the country. Using the oldest cliché of all "I was hooked". By the age of twenty, I was fishing in championship competition in different lakes, rivers and streams, all over Europe. When I arrived in the United States thirteen years ago, I fished European style and kept catching these unusual fish called largemouth bass (they are not native to Europe, however some have been found in Italy and Spain). Five years ago I joined a local Long Island bass club and it was there that I laid down the foundation for what I do today. I began watching the club's senior members catch bass consistently. I learned and used their styles combining them with my own and formed a set of techniques that I use today.

    Dear Carol:
I want to invite you to speak at my campus/appear on my TV or radio show/do a workshop in my town. Is there a list anywhere of the things you talk about? Answer: Yes! After getting this question about a zillion times, I just made such a list. Here goes (hold tight; I don't call myself a "sexological overachiever" for nothing)! And please note that if the topic isn't here, it doesn't mean I can't talk about it. Have a glance at the Bibliography page as well, which I've just updated with the titles of my essays and stories, not just the books they're in; you might get some ideas from looking at that. I have a PhD in sexology and a special interest in a field I call "cultural sexology" that is, analyzing the role of sex in culture. So from that perspective I can add a sort of "commentary track" on just about any topic. This is how Toronto City TV's series SexTV typically uses me; they come up with a topic and then have me on as one of the people explicating it. I often do this on panels as well. Of course I can host and talk about Good Vibrations, of which I am Staff Sexologist and a co-owner: as a business that sells sex toys, books and videos; as a women-owned (and worker-owned) business, and one that values information and educates our staff accordingly. Other GV angles: our antique vibrator collection (which I help curate), and our line of women-directed erotic movies. (The one I made is about the g-spot.) I've also made a video (not through GV) about using vibrators.

Poetry doesn't pay. Or it doesn't pay enough, anyway. So, unless you're independently wealthy or you've found a way to marry into money, chances are you do something besides write poetry to put food on the table. Maybe you stand in a checkout line all day. Maybe you file people's tax returns. Maybe you spend your days teaching children their ABC's. It doesn't matter; whatever your day job is, no matter how grandiose or mundane, it can be turned into poetry. Over the years, many well-known poets have written about their work. Robert Frost's experiences of mending walls and picking apples were the catalyst for his classic poems. John Updike wrote of the disconcerting feeling of returning to work after time off in his poem

Original paperback publication has long been common in the romance, science fiction and western fields. In recent years, some authors in the mystery field have also made successful starts in paperback. Original paperback is not for everyone, though. Mainstream and literary fiction, which depend heavily on reviews, probably need the added boost of hardcover.

THE FASCISTS IN THE "ANTI-WAR" MOVEMENT: Hitch calls it like it is . I'm sorry, but I can respect criticism of the conduct of this war. In fact, I find it hard to respect those who refuse to subject the conduct of this war to constructive criticism. But I cannot respect the organizations and agenda that pollute such legitimate criticism, or their fellow-travelers. Anyone who attends rallies organized by International ANSWER deserves no quarter and no hearing. And the notion that abruptly abandoning the beleaguered Iraqi people to the tender mercy of Jihadists is somehow "progressive" boggles the mind. As Hitch observed of the motley crew in Washington last weekend: "Was there a single placard saying, "No to Jihad"? Of course not. Or a single placard saying, "Yes to Kurdish self-determination" or "We support Afghan women's struggle"? Don't make me laugh."
