Recommended books on teaching
From what I've written and from what you've heard and seen yourself, you probably know that teaching is an incredibly difficult and stressful job. The challenges and conflicts that I've listed barely represent a tenth of different types of difficulties you can expect to encounter if you join TFA. To get a clearer idea of both the highs and lows that come with teaching, and to find out how other people have dealt (or failed to deal) with them, you might want to read some of the following teacher memoirs:
Losing My Faculties
by Brendan Halpin
Reluctant Disciplinarian: Advice on Classroom Management from a Softy Who Became (Eventually) a Successful Teacher
by (former TFA corps member) Gary Rubinstein
As you can probably tell from the title of this one, it's half memoir, half self-help for teachers. If you're thinking about joining TFA, you might find this book useful both as a window into the lives of inexperienced teachers and as a source of tips on how to run your classroom.

    z Basic Craps
In casino craps, the players place their bets and the casino bank "covers" them. In addition to covering every player's bet, the casino-banked craps game offers many other types of proposition bets. These bets, along with the basic "pass" and "don't pass" bets, will be explained.
There are four people actively running the game. The boxman, who sits behind the middle of the table, is the boss. He keeps a constant watch over the game. The two dealers on each side of him pay off the winners and "rake" in the losers' chips. Each dealer handles all the players on his side. The table is divided by the center box of proposition bets and also by the stickman, who stands on the players' side of the table.

Posted by manda under News for Homeschool Lessons No Comments Scientists have long speculated that small moons, hidden among the many strands of the F-ring could be responsible for the odd structure of the region. The question is, are these clumps just disturbances in the ring structure caused by interactions with larger moons nearby such as Prometheus, or are they moons in their own right? Dirty Dustball
Posted by manda under News for Homeschool Lessons No Comments On 4 July, about 80 telescopes on Earth and in space trained their sights on Comet Tempel 1 when a 370-kilogram copper impactor was sent hurtling into its path. Just after the smash, a bright vapour plume spewed from the surface at about 5 kilometres per second, followed quickly by a stream of particles that spread into a cone.
