About Us Translate to: Deutsch Welcome to the web site of "Wood carving Bakardzhiev".
We offer racks for hunting trophies, boxes for jewels, cigars and letters, frameworks for mirrors, carved ceiling and pillars.
All these products are hand made of massive high quality walnut timber that is preliminary processed through special technology and impresses with its natural, soft and noble color.
The articles are not only beautiful but they are also unique since they are being manufactured according to an original style designed by the family and inspired by the nature fascination and perfection.
Work style is elaborated by Nenko Bakardzhiev who has been dealing with wood carving since the early 1960s. 1989 he founded "Wood carving Bakardzhiev" and ever since that he has been working with his son - Delcho Bakardzhiev.
Wood carving workmanship is particularly delicate and extremely complicated matter and that makes its art pieces desirables and wanted in Europe, Asia and America.
We kindly present to your attention several pictures with racks that embellish many famous gentlemen`s collections among which are Mehmet Adakan, Erwin Hemmelseher, Fernando Viyella, Manuel Luis del Valle, Willam Sefton etc.

Our History . . . The American Woodcarving School was founded in 1974 by Sculptor Michael Denike. Mr. Denike's dream...a school that's sole purpose is instructing and promoting the art of Woodcarving. The school holds regular day and evening classes 52 weeks out of the year, and approximately 6 weekend workshops per year. The regular classes allow the student to work on whatever area they wish while under direction of a professional woodcarver. Weekend Workshops hosted by renowned woodcarvers from the US, Canada, and Europe, allow the more advanced student the chance to train under an artist of the highest level in his or her area of interest. To obtain further information about the school, please click the e-mail link below and leave your name, address, phone number and e-mail number. We will place you on our regular mailing list.

I have been carving wood utensils from hard maple and other locally available species continuously since . This work is done in the belief that our tools of daily living should be well designed and carefully made. I am gratified that these objects can contribute to the celebratory aspects of cooking and dining. My I also carve One-of-a-kind Spoons that have sculptural qualities. that have sculptural qualities. These are typically treated as decorative objects (a large spoon as a dining table centerpiece, for example) or acquired by collectors. Most of these spoons are made from hard maple but I also carve other local woods. In recent years I have been working with European buckthorn, an introduced, highly invasive, non-commercial species. It is a strong wood and has an attractive yellow/orange/pink color along with unusual figure. Prices for my one-of-a-kind spoons start at just under $200 and range to approximately $600. All work in creating the and the one-of-a-kind spoons is done solely by me. Since 1994 I have been sharing my craft by teaching spoonmaking at craft centers and at my workshop near Syracuse, NY.

Where Wood Comes Alive! Inside our carving studio today's magic continues to happen. During most of the season, Kieth Morrill, NMW's resident woodcarver, or guest woodcarvers from all corners of the U.S., bring thier individual tallents to the National Museum of Woodcarving. Watch profesional woodcarvers chisel and shape an ordinary block of wood into a work of art right before your eyes. You may choose to learn the art of woodcarving yourself by scheduling a few hours, or days, with a professional in the carving studio. The concept behind the National Museum of Woodcarving is to display some of the best woodcarvings in the nation for the public to see and appreciate. You'll find an entire gallery dedicated to prominent wood carvings by noted woodcarvers and woodcarving groups. Over 70 woodcarvers have crafted thier own unique pieces for display in the National Museum Gallery. This includes a special display of woodcarvings created by over 20 of the top caricature carvers in the U.S., who are members of the Caricature Carvers of America. Here you get the opportunity to see the different styles of various carvers. Pick your favorite, most of these pieces are for sale Unlike many gift shops, you won't find standard souvenirs at the National Museum of Woodcarving. Many of the items for sale are collector's items, like our large selection of hand-carved and painted wood figures. We have a special collection of South Dakota made gifts you'll have a hard time finding anywhere else. Stop by and browse through our gift shop. We've got some of the most distinct and beautiful t-shirt designs in the Black Hills. Like the museum itself, you'll be amazed by what you see.
