    What is the Coordinating Council For Women in History? The Coordinating Council for Women in History, an organization for women in the historical profession, is committed to exploring the diverse experiences and histories of all women. Its primary goals are to educate men and women on the status of women in the historical profession and to promote research and interpretation in areas of women's history. As a voluntary educational nonprofit, CCWH speaks to the interests of faculty, graduate students, teachers, independent scholars, archivists, public historians, museum professionals, preservationists, others working in the various branches of history, and the general public. CCWH seeks to share information about all subjects and methods developed in conjunction with women's history. Founded in 1969 as the Coordinating Council on Women in the Historical Profession and expanded in 1974 with the formation of the Conference Group on Women's History, CCWH combines the functions of both groups. CCWH is affiliated with the American Historical Association , the National Coordinating Committee for the Promotion of History , the International Federation for Research in Women's History , and other associations of professional historians.
