GUILTY OF FRIVOLOUS LAWSUIT Wisconsin Association Ordered to Pay $100,000 in Legal Costs A Wisconsin Circuit Court judge has ruled that the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association (WCA) and its executive director, Russell Leonard, filed a "frivolous" lawsuit in 2002 against Dale Strama, DC, a former chair of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Examining Board, for the sole purpose of "maliciously injuring" Dr. Strama by swaying chiropractors from attending continuing education seminars sponsored by Dr. Strama's organization. The ruling, issued May 12, 2005 in Dane County Circuit Court, by Judge John C. Albert, clears Dr. Strama of using his position to generate more business for Allied Health, a chiropractic business at which he practices and is a shareholder. In Wisconsin, doctors of chiropractic must take 40 hours of continuing education every two years as a condition of maintaining licensure. Both Allied Health and the WCA sponsor continuing education seminars for chiropractors, as do numerous other organizations.

NEWS SEPT. 23, 2005 Wednesday's marriage debate between LGBT leader Evan Wolfson and Focus on the Family's Glenn Stanton garnered media attention from the Capital Times Wisconsin State Journal and the Wisconsin Radio Network . And in the Badger Herald op-ed section, one reader states, "The debate in the Union proved that the UW-Madison campus can be very liberal indeed, while at the same time the university maintains official anti-gay policies. In fact, UW is the only Big Ten school that does not allow same-sex benefits for its faculty." Table of Contents
As updated through August 17, 2005 and 2005 Wisconsin Act 43
Statute changes effective prior to September 2, 2005 are printed as if currently in effect. Statutory changes effective on or after September 2, 2005 are designated by NOTES.
(Only Printed Volumes are Official under s. 35.18 (2), Wis. Stats.)
The following list provides links to all of the Chapters of the Wisconsin Statutes. The underscored "PDF" following each chapter title is a link to the chapter in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. You will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat to view them. Click here to download a free copy. PDF is best for printing and viewing. Text looks like the official version, but searches can only be performed in single chapters. The underscored "Folio" following each chapter title is a link to the chapter in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. Folio is best for searching. Text doesn't look like the official printed version and printing is difficult. Chapters are listed here under subject matter heads, corresponding to the former Titles, which were eliminated in the 1979 session of the Wisconsin Legislature. Searching by chapter titles for the desired subject matter is not a dependable method for finding all applicable law unless you know the book well, for the specific item you are looking for may not be in the chapter you select.

I. REPRESENTED CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES
Current 2003 labor agreements are effective. For all represented employees, please consult the appropriate language in the current labor agreement. If the employee is otherwise approved for career-related reimbursement, there is nothing in any of the State labor Agreements that would preclude a represented classified employee from being eligible for waiver of segregated fees. A. WISCONSIN STATE EMPLOYEES UNION (WSEU) The rules governing tuition reimbursement for WSEU-represented employees are set forth at Section 11/12/6 (Career-Related Education) of the WSEU Agreement. For 2003, WSEU-represented employees are entitled to take time off without pay to take career related educational courses up to but not exceeding 15 semester hours (not to exceed six semester hours per semester or three semester hours per summer session) for the duration of this Agreement. Seventy-five percent (75%) of tuition costs and fees will be reimbursed by the Employer if the employee is still employed upon successful completion of approved courses. Prior to the commencement of any career related courses, the employee must seek and receive advance authorization from his/her supervisor and from the appointing authority, and once approval is given, it may not be rescinded except in case of emergency. Career-related training and educational activities are those that aid an employee in progressing to any class or class series within the bargaining unit within the agency or for lateral movement to a position in a counterpart pay range within the agency.
