Overview of Discrimination in Employment Numerous state and federal laws prohibit discrimination in employment based on, among other characteristics, race, sex, creed, national origin, age and religion. To prove illegal discrimination, an employee in one of the covered categories must demonstrate unequal treatment with respect to similarly situated individuals. An allegation of unequal treatment by an employee must be supported or "proved" with evidence that the employment decision was made for discriminatory reasons. The party claiming discrimination must present sufficient information of discriminatory conduct to raise an inference of discrimination. In response, the accused party must present a legitimate, non-pretextual, non-discriminatory reason for the action taken.

This program helps traffic and transportation analysts, supervisors and managers, shipping and receiving supervisors and clerks, purchasing agents, buyers and managers, carrier sales representatives, dispatchers, and operations personnel who have had little or no formal training in this field or who need a one-day comprehensive refresher. Personnel from all sizes and types of companies are welcome and teams are encouraged to attend.
We have addressed these types of questions from past participants in this one-day program: . What physical types and modes of transportation are available today to move products? . What are the ranges of distance-space-time (DST) services now offered by carriers and logistics services providers (LSPs) that go beyond dock-to-dock services? . How do carriers and LSPs legally hold themselves out to serve shippers? . What shipping papers are required as bills of lading and carrier cargo liabilities change?

The integration of the East and West European economic communities, new cross-border freedoms in regional free trade agreements, the U.S. striving to increase exports and reduce its foreign deficits—they all mean potential profits for your organization. Can foreign buyers make up a new, profitable market for your firm? Yes, but how you source and deploy your materials internationally will determine your success. Import/Export Documentation and Traffic addresses your concerns, answers your questions, and prepares you to make the most of your international market. Who benefits the most The program is designed for import/export traffic/transportation professionals: executives, managers, analysts, clerks, coordinators, freight forwarders, international sales and marketing managers, and other staff and administrators whose firms are interested in exploring the reduced costs and improved profits that international sourcing and selling can offer.

Text of Letter in MSWord Format September 21, 1990 The Honorable Tommy G. Thompson
Governor, State of Wisconsin
Room 115 East
State Capitol
P.O. Box 7863
Madison, Wisconsin 53707 Dear Governor Thompson, This letter is in response to your letter of August 30, 1990, to Secretary Cavazos. You have asked for a Department opinion on the applicability of Part B of the Education of the Handicapped Act, 20 U.S.C. 1401 et seq. (EHA-B), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. 794 (Section 504), to the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (Choice Program). We have reviewed Wisconsin Statute, Section 228. 119.23, “Milwaukee Parental Choice Program,” to determine whether and to what extent the EHA-B and Section 504 apply. In brief, the Choice Program provides that up to 1000 low-income pupils, grades K-12, who reside in Milwaukee may attend, at no charge, participating nonsectarian private schools. The pupils, or their parents, who wish to participate in this program apply directly to the private school of their choice; participating private schools must accept Choice Program students on a random basis. The State Department of Education (SEA) pays to the private school the funds it would have provided to Milwaukee, approximately $2500 per pupil. Our understanding is that all funds paid to the schools are State, rather than Federal, funds. The Department has determined that the EHA-B public placement requirements do not apply to placements in private schools resulting from parents’ decisions to participate in the Choice Program, as long as a free appropriate public education (FAPE) is available to each handicapped child in the public school. Because it is the parent’s decision to participate in the Choice Program, handicapped children in this program are “private school handicapped children” under the EHA-B and as such are not entitled to a FAPE. See 34 C.F.R. 300.450. These children are still eligible for any “equitable services” that may be available to them, in the same manner as other handicapped children enrolled in participating or nonparticipating private schools.

Fishing Wisconsin: Regulations for 2004-2005

To assist Wisconsin anglers with their fishing, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) produces several fishing regulation pamphlets which are specific to the species of fish and, in some cases, the waterbody. Generally, fishing seasons do not coincide with the calendar year. Be sure that you are familiar with the correct fishing regulations for the season, species and waterbody on which you are fishing.
