    Natural Heritage Inventory: General Information
    An Inventory of Biological Diversity
The Mississippi Natural Heritage Program identifies the state's most significant natural areas through a comprehensive inventory of rare plant and animal species, exemplary natural communities, special geological features, and significant natural areas. From the inventory, the Natural Heritage Database compiles information on the distribution, biology, status, and preservation needs of these species and communities. Established in 1976, through a cooperative agreement between The Nature Conservancy, a private conservation organization, and the Mississippi Parks Commission (now part of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks), full administration of the program was assumed by the DWFP in 1978. The Mississippi Natural Heritage Program is part of an international network including State Natural Heritage Programs and Conservation Data Centers, all building on the same data collection methodology. The database is updated continuously and is used to set state, national and global priorities for the preservation of natural diversity.
    The Natural Heritage Database
    Information Available from the Database
    • Tracks the status of more than 600 species of plants and animals that are rare or imperiled at the state or global level.

information on native plant, bird, butterfly and wildlife gardening in Florida.
http://www.nsis.org/garden/garden-native-wildlife.html
Wildlife Gardening Gardening for wildlife is simple if you're aware of what wildlife is in your area and what their needs are. You may wish to attract wildlife to feed in your yard or go further and provide a diverse habitat.
Wildlife habitat necessities
Cover
Plants provide wildlife with protection from weather and predators as well as a place to rest, eat, and raise young. Often plants also provide food, and some will collect rain water for drinking, too.
Food
All wildlife feed on plants or other animals. Ideally, the diversity of plants in the yard will provide year-round food.
Water
Fresh drinking water is essential for wildlife. Some animals need bodies of water for egg laying and early development and some live partially or entirely in water. Ponds are gaining in popularity, but simply placing a birdbath or large plant saucer filled with fresh water will supply the needs of a wide variety of wildlife.

Some of the most popular upland game species include chukar partridge, California and Gamble's quail, ruffed grouse, blue grouse, dove, and the Himalayan snowcock, an introduced species from Asia that is unique to the Ruby Mountains in northeastern Nevada. The seasons and regulations for all of Nevada's hunted species are available on this site. Available hunting applications are also posted, as well as draw results.
