The New Wiccan Church (established 1973) is an international, professional association of individual members of various traditions of Wicca who are dedicated to preserving initiatory witchcraft in an ethical manner. In Europe we are known as Wicca, but in the United States we usually refer to ourselves as British Traditional Wicca (or "BTW") in order to differentiate us from the popular pagan movement that continues to grow worldwide. The NWC defines Wicca as an initiatory, pagan mystery path with roots originating in the British Isles. Full Membership is available to verifiable Elders of a member tradition who meet our membership standards and agree to observe and uphold the tenets and bylaws of the NWC. Associate Membership is available to initiates of member Elders and also to initiates who have the permission of their non-member Elders to join. International Membership is available to those who do not reside near an established Branch or who prefer to apply at the International level. All members are responsible for a common-sense application of Traditional Craft Law, the Wiccan Rede, and their oaths to the Craft.

167. Pagan Group In Phoenix, History, Religion, Pagan, Wicca
A community of wiccans and other religions who gather for Spiritual Enlightenment.
http://www.geocities.com/wicca_wicca_wiccan/
The Mystic Flame
of the
Silver Phoenix
The Mystic Flame of the Silver Phoenix is a private community of Wiccans and other Spiritual religions who gather for fun, fellowship, learning, and Spiritual Enlightenment. Interests and traditions vary among our community (Pagan, Wicca, Buddhism, Taoism, Christian, Witch craft, Judaism, Greek, Roman, Hinduism, Egyptian, New Age, Celtic, Islam) but our focus is on what is called, Wicca.
We are located in the Glendale area in Arizona and meet at least twice per month for path work and socializing. We also meet on the weekends nearest the 8 Sabbats of the year (Mabon, Samhain, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Lughnassadh). Invitations to the public are made available during these High Days, but we request your intentions to join us be made in advance, prior to attending. Our Gatherings are focused on adult education in the practice of modern Wicca and the Pagan religion of Western Europe (Ireland, Scotland, wales, England, and france). We also take this time to watch movies, listen to music (and sometimes play it), and create circles of sharing where we develop and enhance the trusting nature of our circle. Our policies for attending Mystic Flame functions are simple. Harm none, including yourself. Respect the beliefs, customs, and boundaries of the attendees. Respect the sacredness of the space. These policies are good in all of life's situations, but they are especially adhered to in our circle.

172. A Converted Wiccan: Victoria's Testimony
A journey from legalism to Wicca and finally to Christianity.
http://www.spotlightministries.org.uk/victoriastestimony.htm
A Converted Wiccan:
Victoria's Testimony
Why I Left the Church When I was about 10 years old, my Mom and I occasionally attended the Seventh-day Adventist church in a nearby town. The Adventist Church was very legalistic back then, though I did not understand what that meant and so had no concept of that at the time. I thought of myself as a Christian though I had never had a conversion experience or asked Jesus into my heart. I'm not even sure I ever heard the Gospel clearly explained to me. I gave intellectual assent to the truth, that Jesus was the Son of God who came to die for my sins, but I didn't have a personal relationship with Him. This was not a saving faith, for the Bible says that "even the demons believeand tremble" (James 2:19). The turning point toward disaster came when I borrowed a sermon tape from the church library. The tape basically said that Christians never sin. They probably used Scripture references such as I John 5:18 "We know that no one born of God sins." But this is a poor translation. What it actually means in the Greek is that no one born of God continues in sin, that is, a truly saved person will not be able to live in continuing sin. It does not means that a saved person never sins, for I John 1:8 says "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. First John 1:9 starts off "If we confess our sins..." This presupposes that Christians do sin. Moreover, verse 10 continues the thought. "If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a lair, and His word is not in us."

Freehold, Iowa -
In an act that can only be described as pure evil, a rabid young Wiccan girl wearing a black cape burst into the Landover Baptist 11 a.m. Sunday morning church service and flung the bloody carcass of a headless black cat across 297 pews. Pastor Deacon Fred ducked just in time as the abomination splashed into the baptismal pool, spattering chunks of animal flesh and water over the white robes of a horrified Christian Seniors Choir visiting from Des Moines. Pushing a frenzied crowd of screaming parishioners aside, Church ushers acted quickly and detained the Devil's harlot for questioning in the sanctuary basement before taking her to the furnace room. The following Tuesday, at a meeting of concerned Deacons, Pastor Deacon Fred explained, “Wicca, is just a fancy word that insecure unsaved teenagers who hate their parents use to describe their little club.” Landover Baptist has thousands of Christian moles placed in covens, chat rooms, and schools all across America. “They feed us some pretty gruesome stuff about Wiccans,”said Pastor Deacon Fred. "From what we can gather, like Jewish people, Wiccans kidnap Christian children and drink their blood to seal their commitment to Satan." Deacon Fred continued, "My guess is that the little Devil worshipper who slipped into our Sunday Morning service last week, did so because she got some inside information about what we were going to release on our website this month. She was nervous and very upset that the rest of the world would soon learn the truth about her silly cult.”

What's New
I'm changing how I update the News - I'm only going to keep the five latest additions, and I'm going to keep them dated. If you see one with no date, it will correspond to the date of the item above it (except for the ones below this one). I'm working on changing the layout of the site. I've decided that I'm sick of this one. Fear not - I'm keeping the menu at the top, and the colour scheme... but I might reorganize the menu - the categories aren't working for me. I added a Search function to the page through Google. You've got your choice of searching the web or just this site - pretty neat! October has been added to the Moon Calendar. There are now Almanacs and Datebooks for 2004 available in the Book Shop.

About this page

Witchcraft, or Wicca, is a form of neo-Paganism . It is officially recognized as a religion by the U.S. government.
This is a diverse movement that knows no central authority. Practitioners do not all have the same views, beliefs and practices.
Note that while all witches are pagans , not all pagans are witches. Likewise, while all Wiccans are witches, not all witches are Wiccan.
Wicca. A generic term for modern and contemporary witchcraft. It includes all the various types or traditions of modern and contemporary witchcraft, such as Alexandrian, Algard, Dianic, Gardnerian, Georgian, Seax-Wica, and so forth. Source: Witchcraft: Exploring the World of Wicca , by Craig Hawkins . Baker Books, 1996, p. 210
Witch. Individual who practices or concurs with the views or experiences of witchcraft. Most witches view divinity as immanent in nature, seeing all life as sacred, thus denying any sacred/secular distinction. They are nature-oriented and also see no ultimate distinction between matter and spirit - the material and the spiritual. They may believe in or invoke a pantheon of gods and goddesses, but they primarily experience, and/or invoke, and/or worship the Mother or Triple Goddess and her male consort, the Horned God. Witches generally practice multiple forms of divination, participate in trance and other altered states, of conciousness, and perform magical spells and incantations. Most observe seasonal holidays and festivals (e.g. the summer and winter solstices). Most believe in some form of reincarnation. The widely believed notion that a female is a
