She has taught groups of adults at community centers and has also tutored many private students. With children, she has lead a bilingual Spanish story time at a Public Library and is currently teaching a Spanish class for middle school students. At the moment she is completing a Master's Degree in Human Development focusing on Bicultural/Bilingual studies and Education. Ana Mari grew up in a bilingual/bicultural family. Her native language is Spanish (Castilian). She learned English at an early age and became fluent in French as an adolescent. In high school and college, Ana Mari took Italian and German language classes, worked for several summers in Switzerland and was in Paris for an internship to perfect her French and to learn more about French culture. Ana Mari has a love for languages and cultures and likes to travel. Her family has lived abroad for over twenty years and lives currently in Spain. Ana Mari travels yearly to visit her family. Her frequent trips to Spain keep her in touch with the language, food, culture and festivals of that country. She has also traveled to Mexico and hopes to do more travel to the Americas in the future. Ana Mari's style of teaching is one of caring and encouragement, sharing her passion for the Spanish language and culture with her students, through conversation, grammar and using different materials catering to the student's learning styles and interests.
