The Forum was attended by delegations from UK Churches organised by Dr David Goodbourn of Churches Together and Britain and Ireland; US churches organised by The Revd Jim Wallis, leader of the peace and justice network Sojourners, representatives of African led churches and representatives from faith based mission and development agencies.
ENDS Notes for editors: The London Forum
As leaders of churches and faith-based organisations from the United States and the United Kingdom in conversation with voices from the global South, we have gathered at Lambeth to strengthen our commitment to end extreme poverty on the occasion of the G-8 Summit.
For the first time in history, humanity possesses the information, knowledge, technology, and resources to bring the worst of global poverty virtually to an end. What is missing is sufficient political and moral will. As church leaders from diverse Christian traditions, we re-commit ourselves and our faith communities to help generate that moral will at this critical historical juncture. We call upon President George Bush, Prime Minister Tony Blair, and the other G-8 leaders to provide courageous and costly political leadership by providing the resources and making the structural changes necessary to eradicate poverty.

"Reclaiming The Faith Once Delivered"
"For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Mathew 18:20)
That's how we started, as two, gathered in the name of The Lord. And how we have grown!!! From our original two members to around forty in only a few short months. On March 16,2004 we moved into our new building at 620 Main St, Slatington, Pa. A formal dedication service was held on April 3rd and was attended by Bishop Irl Gladfelter and his wife, Linda, who came all the way from Kansas City to share this special occasion with us. Our regular worship service is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and a second service is planned for 8:00am, as the need arises. Youth Group meets on Thursday eve at 7:00 and a Bible story hour for children is held at 7:00pm on Wed. Along with our regular worship services, our members volunteer in soup kitchens, nursing homes, prisons and with TRICITY MINISTRIES. We do not take a collection and our worship services are open to all.
WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE BELEIVE

Presbyterians support church decision to divest of companies harming Palestinians
Palestine USA, Politics, 8/8/2005 The Presbyterian Church has started steps that are part of a process that would divest church funds invested in US companies that are doing harm to Palestinians by their supplying or supporting Israel in acts harmful to the Palestinians.
About 20 members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) came last week to express support for the General Assembly's decision to start a process of "phased selective divestment" from multinational corporations whose business practices contribute to violence in Israel and Palestine, the Presbyterian News Service reported.
"I support the actions of the 216th General Assembly," said Marilyn Gamblin, an elder at Marine View Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, WA. "It is time to move beyond talking and take action."
Gamblin said she realizes that some people think the action is anti-Semitic, but added: "I respectfully disagree. It is about our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is about hurting people in the land that we call holy."

God Accepts the Best We Have to Offer
In It is obvious from a fair reading of the passage that Jesus is not making this an optional thing. This is a command that is given to His disciples. Jesus does not tell them to go and teach all nations if they have sufficient funding, if they have clothes nice enough to make a good impression upon those who would listen, or if they are forceful speakers who have the ability to persuade the multitudes. Jesus simply tells them to go and expects them to obey His command that they do so. Since God knows that we are not all alike, He has some basic demands of all men, but specific demands that only apply to certain classes of individuals.

The Indehar Family: Church Planting Among the Urban Poor in Bangkok, Thailand
Last Web Update: Friday, September 23, 2005 Hello From Bangkok We are thankful to God for all of you, our ministry partners, who are enabling us to bring the h ope of the gospel of Jesus Christ to Thailand. Currently we are immersed in language study, adjusting to Thai culture, making new friends (Thai and non-Thai), sharing the gospel, and praying and planning for the future. It's overwhelming to contemplate reaching a city of 10,000,000 people with the incredible news that God has offered amnesty to all who embrace his Son, Jesus Christ as their sole Lord and Savior. It is in these times of being overwhelmed when we most clearly see our need for him, and fall back in His arms knowing that he will accomplish all of his purposes. Pra Jao Hui Pon (God Bless You). We're glad you stopped by! To receive our monthly e-Newsletter please enter your email address below.

Gulf States Conference hit by Katrina, leaders respond with prayer, care, vigilance

An online resource network Mennonites are part of the larger Christian expression called Anabaptism (meaning "baptized again"). Our identity is founded in 475 years of witness since the Reformation. We enjoy a spiritual kinship with over a million Anabaptist related Christians worldwide. As you visit our site, get acquainted with who we are and who we are becoming. God is calling us to be a "missional church" with a witness to be shared across the street and around the world.
