The uniting general council Nairobi, 1970 Preface Message Proceedings Act of union and constitution ... Contact us This message is addressed to the local congregations whose representatives we have had the privilege of being in this uniting assembly of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches and the International Congregational Council. The full report of our proceedings will make available to you the substance of our work, and we especially commend to you the section reports which we hope will receive your careful study. In the meantime, we send this message touching the central theme of our gathering, namely "God reconciles and makes free". Our message to you is that "God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not counting against men their transgressions, and has given us the message of reconciliation" (2 Cor 5.19). Thanks be to God for the reality of the new fellowship he has created between himself and his creation and among men, freeing his people joyfully to share in the extension of this reality in every age and culture. It is in this context that we give thanks to God for uniting us, Presbyterians and Congregationalists, in this new strengthening of the Reformed heritage. We pray that God will not let us rest at ease with our common identity but will use us, as we hope he will use other world confessional bodies, not to retard but to hasten the wider unity which he wills among all Christians.

Marquette County, Michigan
Photos courtesy of: Ken Huisjen Marquette County is located along the southern shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s central Upper Peninsula. It is Michigan’s largest county in geographical size, covering 1841 square miles. It was named after Father Marquette, the famous Jesuit missionary who came here during the late 1600’s. The terrain varies from flat and swampy to a rocky mountain range in the north, filled with iron ore, discovered early by fur traders and which helped supply the Union during the Civil War. Today, iron ore is still mined here, a major contributor to the area’s economy: Giant ore ships load from railroad cars on the north side of Marquette , the county seat. Other major contributions to the economy include paper manufacturing and tourism. There are many outdoor recreational opportunities year ‘round, including fishing, boating and canoeing, hiking, snowmobiling and two-trackin’. Most importantly, this is truly one of the state’s premiere beauty spots certainly a must-see when discovering Michigan!

RECONCILIATION MISSION OFFERING IS THIS SUNDAY
Please remember to "Sow Reconciliation - Reap Justice" by supporting the church's shared ministry for racial justice and reconciliation. Reconciliation Mission helps the church live out the call of one of the core components of the 2020 Vision: to be an anti-racist, pro-reconciling faith community. The Reconciliation Mission offering provides the primary support of Disciples' efforts to advocate for, educate about and organize to dismantle systemic racism and structural oppression. The Reconciliation offering will be taken in churches this Sunday, Sept. 25 and on Sunday, Oct. 2. Visit http://www.reconciliationmission.org/ for additional information. In "Language Matters," Jessica Vazquez, Associate Minister of Reconciliation Mission, comments on the ways language is used to formulate identity. She examines the ways language enables us to communicate how we experience the world and to give expression to our grief, pain and anger. Vazquez reminds the church to be mindful that what we do often calls into question what we say and that Reconciliation Mission is committed to providing leadership that will help build bridges of understanding between all people while working to dismantle barriers. BIBLE FELLOWSHIP CHURCH ONLINE HISTORY CENTER
Welcome to the Historical Center of the Bible Fellowship Church!
Come on in.  The door is open.  Look around.  If you want to learn about the people, events and issues that have shaped the Bible Fellowship Church, you will probably find something helpful.  Whether you are a student, a curious member, a serious researcher or just simply interested, come and explore.
Since we are just getting started, we have a vision for the future. Our vision is an online Historical Center where you can come to learn of our history. You can stop by the library and check on the papers and studies that have been put on our "shelves."  Or, you may want to step into the biographical center and check on Who's Who. Or, go into the gallery and see the selection of pictures of our past. You can look up the history of your church (when it is available). And don't forget the genealogical center where you can see some of the families from our history and maybe even record your own. You will be able to stop by the book store and order some of our books.  We will keep you posted and tell you as we make changes. If you would like to ask a question or need some information, please get in touch.
