SITE MAP CONTACT US WELCOME TO THE RPCGA WEBSITE! Welcome to the home page of the Reformed Presbyterian Church General Assembly. We are a continuing historic confessing church that has officially adopted the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647 together with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms as our subordinate standards. We further recognize the value of other Reformed creedal standards and their acceptable use among our churches in teaching the theology of the Reformation. We are also unique as a denomination in that we:
  • embrace the doctrine of Biblical Inerrancy
  • maintain a literal twenty-four hour, six consecutive day creationist view of Genesis;
  • reject the modern day Erastian teaching of Church Incorporation;
  • practice male head-of-household voting;
  • encourage family-integrated church practices;
  • require an educated eldership;
  • adhere to a two office view of the church (Southern Presbyterian) while maintaining a three fold function of the eldership (preaching, teaching and governing);
  • promote and support the training of our children in Christian educational institutions, especially in the home schooling method. As a Reformed covenantal church we invite you to examine our web site and review our documents and if you have any questions about our denomination, please feel free to contact us.

One remains faithful to the biblical truth and received teachings of the Church, while the other rejects them. " Concerned Clergy and Laity of the Episcopal Church " There are a growing number of places in the church were lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons are welcomed, affirmed in their ministries and blessed in their committed relationships. Introduction:
    The Episcopal Church, USA is one province in the world-wide Anglican Communion, which also includes the Anglican Church of Canada and the Church of England in England. Of all of the Christian denominations in the United States, the Episcopal Church (USA), the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Methodist Church are probably experiencing the greatest amount of conflict over equal rights for their gay and lesbian members. More liberal Christian denominations have already largely accepted homosexuality as simply another normal, natural, and morally neutral sexual orientation. More conservative denominations have retained the historical Christian beliefs which condemn all same-sex behavior, regardless of the nature of the relationship. Two sexually related topics are currently placing extreme stress on the Episcopal Church and the rest of the

    The Episcopal Church was founded in 1789 after the American colonies proclaimed independence from Great Britain . Prior to the American Revolutionary War , the Episcopal Church was part of the Church of England , whose clergy are required to accept the supremacy of the British monarch . When the clergy of Connecticut elected Samuel Seabury as their bishop , he sought consecration in England . The Oath of Supremacy proved too difficult a problem, however, and he came to

    Separation of church and state
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
    The separation of church and state is a concept and philosophy in modern thought and practice, whereby the structures of state or national government are proposed as needing to be separate from those of religious institutions. The concept has long been a topic of political debate throughout history. The term "church," in Western civilization is usually associated with Christianity . However, the phrase as a whole, refers to religion and religious institutions in general and its/their relationship to government. In countries where other religions are dominant, the words mosque temple , or synagogue are often substituted. In the United States, separation of church and state is governed by the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and by legal precedents, some quite controversial, interpreting that clause. Many other Western governments around the world have similar clauses in their respective constitutions. The actual term, "separation of church and state", does not appear in the constitution, but rather comes from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a group identifying themselves as the Danberry Baptists There are a variety of views regarding the degree of separation that should exist between church and state. Some, often referred to as

    PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN AMERICA
    The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) contributes to the ethos of the Atlanta community by teaching and encouraging its members to integrate life and faith. Unlike many activist organizations that lobby local, state, and federal governments for the enactment of laws, neither the PCA nor its churches attempts to represent its members in public matters. The PCA does encourage its members to be active in political and civic organizations. Consequently, the denomination is well represented in prison ministries, adoption services, pregnancy crisis centers, disaster relief, and many other such organizations in the communities where the churches are located. The PCA does humbly petition the government, when appropriate, regarding the significant moral issues that trouble our communities and nation.
    The Presbyterian Church in America also cooperates with other denominations and churches where there are common goals. One example is Quest Atlanta '96, in which 25 denominations and some 1,500 churches are working together. Quest Atlanta '96 is committed to unite the body of Christ to welcome the world during the Olympic Games in an effort to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God.

The significations of the rose and (fourth of Lent ), the day on which it is blessed, so blend that the Sunday is oftentimes called Rose Sunday, and rose-coloured vestments, altar and throne and chapel draperies (signs of hope and joy) are substituted for the penitential purple during the solemn function. The Church on this Sunday bids her children who have been so far engaged in prayer, fasting and other penitential works, as also in serious meditation upon the malice of sin and the terrible punishment exacted on account of it, to look up and beyond Calvary and see in the first rays of the Easter sun, the risen Christ, Who brings them redemption, and "Rejoice". The golden flower and its shining splendour show forth Christ and His Kingly Majesty, Who is heralded by the prophet as "the flower of the field and the lily of the valleys"; its fragrance shows the sweet odour of Christ which should be widely diffused by His faithful followers (
