General Information T he Department of Urology currently has 11 full-time physicians with specialization in the areas of adult and pediatric reconstructive surgery, urologic malignancies, male and female incontinence, male sexual dysfunction, urinary stone disease, endourology, laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and pediatric urology. It is most well known for its contributions to the understanding and treatment of testicular cancer, urinary tract reconstruction, and for innovative approaches to the surgical treatment of children with congenital bladder disease. F ounded in 1910, the Department of Urology at Indiana University School of Medicine is one of the oldest urology departments in the country. It is based in Indianapolis, Indiana on the campus of Indiana University and Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Adult urologic care is delivered at Indiana University Hospital, Wishard Hospital, Methodist Hospital, and the Roudebush VA Hospital. Pediatric Urologic care is provided at the Riley Hospital for Children.
