Ukrainian Borscht
Submitted by: William Anatooskin "This soup is a must for those who enjoy a beet/vegetable soup. It takes about 1 hour to prepare and cook but it is well worth the time. I have found that cooking the various ingredients separately enhances the flavor of the borscht and it does not get mushy. However, you may also cook all ingredients together in the order as listed if you are pressed for time." Original recipe yield: 20 servings. PRINT: EMAIL: RECIPE BOX: SHOPPING LIST:
INGREDIENTS:
  • 6 cups water 1 cup white kidney beans 4 medium beets, peeled and shredded 6 cups water 4 large carrots, shredded 3 cups water 3 potatoes, peeled and diced 2 cups water 2 stalks celery, chopped 2 onions, chopped 1 green bell pepper, chopped 1 red bell pepper, chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced 4 cups water 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon powder 4 cups chicken broth 1/2 cup dry potato flakes 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 tablespoons soy sauce 4 tablespoons chopped fresh dill weed 3 tablespoons white sugar 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
DIRECTIONS:
  • In a pot, add 6 cups of the water and pinto beans and simmer for about 1 hour or until beans start to split. Make sure the beans are covered with water at all times during simmering. Save water along with the beans to add to borscht later.

All the more so because, during these two years a rather dangerous process was quietly taking place on the pages of the Ukrainian domain – the creeping subjectivisation of poetry. The translators themselves were subjective when they, as a result of their own preferences and tastes – and perhaps somewhat as a reflection of their skills – drew from the complete works of a certain poet for their translations. And steadfastly subjective in the selection of poets and in the manner of their introduction was, and remains, the editor of the Ukrainian domain, defending subjectivity as a principle for the critical treatment of creative writing in general. Subjectivism is the editor’s use of his professional critical receptors in selecting those individuals who resonate most with literary and extra-literary contemporaneity, in Ukraine and beyond its borders. We aspire to reflect the most complete image of poetic contemporaneity, forming its mosaic from fragments that are the most eloquent, most notable and most resonating.

    I use this blini recipe
modified a bit2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour and one cup white, specifically, and a little extra yeast to make up the density difference. And more milk than they saythe three and three-fourths cups isn't enough to make them runny enough to be tender.
They're amazing. The krasniy blini on the same site aren't quite as goodtoo heavy. ( retrobabble stillnotbored , the ones you had were the krasniy blini.)
Warning; they lie. The yeild is not 28. It's six million and four. You gon' be flipping pancakes for a loooong time. *g*
